Boomer

Boomer resting at the hotel after a long day of work!

Boomer at the Las Vegas Pet Expo after just one week of training!
Boomer is a four year old Portuguese Podengo who recently found his permanent home with Kim Shoopman, Owner and Head Trainer of our Sit Means Sit Ventura County location. Boomer was imported from Portugal by his original owner at eight weeks of age. After two and a half years, Boomer earned the title “difficult dog” and was given up to a Podengo Rescue/Breeder where he spent a year as a stud dog, primarily living in a crate. When Boomer came to Kim, he was flat with no confidence. He held his head low, he would not take food from the hand, he was not social, and, he was dog-dog aggressive. After a few days of training, Boomer’s personality finally began to sparkle! He has become a happy and confident dog who is eager to learn. As a natural warren hound, Boomer likes to spend his free time hunting the yard in hopes of finding that prized squirrel or mouse!
