I need help with Roadie!! He is soiling in the house. Pooping on our downstairs couch and peeing on his bed and blankets. I’m about to kill him. Do you have any suggestions? We have sprayed no pee around and also have sprayed where he should be peeing in his litter box or outside. Is he just being an ass and rebelling? Please give me some guidance. I will be attending group class or Saturday. Do you think it is best to revert back to private lessons?
Hi there - About 2 months ago we adopted a red and white border collie. She had some bad habits already .. but I have been able to train her on the leasn (a small choke collar) .. and she does listen to commands with the aid of her tennis ball - I’ve got her to sit, stay for a while and then come to me when I call her. But … off leash .. she is just impossible and ignores any commands … and basically, runs away. Very aggravating! I have always had Border Collies and know that I can do great things .. but, Ruby is something else! We have a few acres and have had to enclose the back yard (which includes a pond and the shores of Terry lake (1-1/2 miles North of Longmont) .. so, I am really afraid of not being able to control her when the lake freezes this coming Winter!! We need help with her!! I have just begun using “The Shaker” so that we can at least get out of our front door without her escaping!!! Would you be able to come and visit us .. and see our unique situation - and our beloved Ruby who we love so much already .. but, really want a trained dog to be proud of!!
Sincerely - Jenni (Husband Jack)
I am looking for a trainer who is willing to help us with remote collar training. We also have a rescue dog (Border Collie 1 year old) named Ruby. She is a great dog, learning obedience quickly. My biggest issue is her chasing and nipping at bicycles and runners. She even barks and goes crazy in the car when she sees bicycles on the road! She does pretty good off leash on trails without bikes runners. We live near Boulder Res in Boulder and would be interested in private lessons if they are affordable. I am having trouble finding a trainer in the area who is receptive to E-Collar training. Please let us know cost and details. We have not purchased a collar yet and are wondering what kind to get.
Hi. We have recently seen your van around town and I think we could use your help. You see we adopted and puppy (yorkie pom mix) a few months ago and his training was going great, we got him house trained with no problems but when it came to teaching him not to chew on things that aren’t his chew toys thats when the problems started. So far he has chewed through over $800 of electronics alone! we have tried everything from spraying no chew on everything to punishments, we are reaching our whits end. His bad habbit is getting very expensive to say in the least, and we really don’t want to get rid of him because we already love him so much. However, if something isn’t done soon to break him of this habbit we might just have to.
