Dr. Ian Dunbar and Darin at the IACP Conference 2007

I had a terrific opportunity to meet Dr. Ian Dunbar, founder of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers at this years IACP conference. Dr. Dunbar gave lectures over two days of the conference. Having read many articles and watched him in film, it was an honor to hear him speak in person. Not only is he a gifted and knowledable dog man, but an entertaining speaker as well. As an unexpected surprise, a small handful of us happened upon Dr. Dunbar after his presentations. He was sitting quietly outside enjoying a cold beverage and cigar. He was gracious enough to entertain us with more of his experiences in a more personal setting. A really great experience. I’m glad that I was able to attend one of his last public seminars.
