Dr. Ian Dunbar and Darin at the IACP Conference 2007

Filed under: EVENTS, PHOTOS — darinshepherd @ 11:20 am

I had a terrific opportunity to meet Dr. Ian Dunbar, founder of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers at this years IACP conference. Dr. Dunbar gave lectures over two days of the conference. Having read many articles and watched him in film, it was an honor to hear him speak in person. Not only is he a gifted and knowledable dog man, but an entertaining speaker as well. As an unexpected surprise, a small handful of us happened upon Dr. Dunbar after his presentations. He was sitting quietly outside enjoying a cold beverage and cigar. He was gracious enough to entertain us with more of his experiences in a more personal setting. A really great experience. I’m glad that I was able to attend one of his last public seminars.

Thank you Dr. Dunbar!

Royal Paws Private Dog Park

Filed under: LINKS — darinshepherd @ 8:28 pm

Royal Paws is moving to an improved location. I am very excited about the growth of this Atlanta based pet company. Terri has been a long time client and friend and runs a first class operation. The original location was fantastic, I am sure that the new park will be even better. I can’t wait for the opening of the new place. Keep an eye out for updates. We are very excited about continuing our dog training relationship with the best dog park and daycare in Atlanta.

Atlanta Dog Training Testimonial

Filed under: Uncategorized, WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT US! — darinshepherd @ 10:06 pm

To Darin I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your work with us and with our English Pointer, Hank.  The No Limitations training method was the perfect method for him. Hank was found as a stray 7 years ago, and had become increasingly stubborn about refusing to come back when called, and about pulling on his leash when we walked him.  He’s now a different dog!  He comes instantly when we call him, and stays right with us on a leash.  With the No Limitations method, we’re able to leave him loose in the fenced yard now – he has so much more freedom and is a much happier dog, and we don’t have to chase him down in the woods or yell and yell to get him back inside. The No Limitations remote collar training was so much more gentle than the chain collars we had tried before, and he didn’t resist the remote collar like he did with the chain collars.  We’re very pleased with our "new" dog, and Hank is so much happier.  I’ve recommended the No Limitations Dog Training method to several of my clients, and will continue to recommend it, as well as to use it in the future myself. Thanks so much for your work! Jeanne McCumpsey,  D.V.M. Douglasville Veterinary Hospital
