Don’t dogs feet hurt when they walk on hot or cold surfaces?

Dogs have pads on the bottom of their feet. And each dog, determined by the thickness of those pads, can tolerate the hot or cold better.

At one time I owned two miniature pinchers and one hated the coldness on it’s feet and the other never minded it much. A lot has to do with the thickness of their pads.

Dogs also have two more legs to distribute the weight of their body which also helps them to walk on rough or hot ground.

However, just because dogs have these advantages you should still be careful of hot or cold surfaces as their paws can be damaged. And damaged paw pads can be very sensitive.
