Is your dog safe for the festive season?

With Christmas approaching quickly, now is the time to make plans for your dogs so that they too, enjoy the festive season. At Sit Means Sit Brisbane Dog Training unfortunately we hear of many dogs that have run away during fireworks and thunderstorms leaving their loving owners devastated. If you know that your dog is afraid of thunderstorms, fireworks and other extremely loud, vibrational noises plan to have a safe location for them to be housed in until it’s over. With thunderstorms many dogs react before the storm has actually started as they sense it approaching. As soon as you notice a change in your dog’s attitude is the time to put them in a safe place that they cannot escape from. Don’t wait until the storm starts, it may be too late by then.

A dog crate is an ideal safe place because it is small and confined and mimicks the safety of a den but if you don’t have a crate, perhaps a confined space in the house would be suitable. Sit Means Sit Dog Training Brisbane have a professional and widely experienced Dog Trainer available to help you with any of your dog training needs. Now is the ideal time to train your dog so that you have a happy companion that you can include in your festive plans knowing that your dog is well-trained and reliable.
