We had a great Group Class yesterday with Aaliyah (Pit Bull/Labrador), Scout (Jack Russel Terrier), and Deogee (Pug).  This was only Aaliyah’s 2nd Group class.  Aaliyah is learning to have confidence around small dogs.  Deogee has been in our Board & Train program for only 4 days and participated in his very first group class yesterday!  We took a break from class to take a quick group photo.  It was so great to see these guys so calm after only a tiny bit of training.

This is a picture from People Magazine.  That’s our Bijou with Dot Jones from Glee at The Race For The Rescues last weekend.

Last weekend we attended the fun and amazing Race for the Rescues.  There were over 2000 racers and spectators at The Rescue Train’s Race for the Rescues.  The Rescue Train was able to raise over $225, 000 for 10 animal welfare organizations and 37 dogs and cats found loving homes.  All of that occurred before noon!  We were so pleased to be part of the event.

We had lots of fun and met a lot of great people at yesterday’s Race For the Rescues at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl.  Thanks to everyone who came out to help save some lives!

Sit Means Sit will be at this year’s Race For The Rescues event on Sunday, October 23rd. Please stop by our booth and say hello.

When: Sunday, October 23rd – Run/Walk Registration 7am, Run/Walk starts as 8:30.  The entire event should be over by 12:00pm

The Race For the Rescues event is a fundraiser for The Rescue Train. The Rescue Train is a unique, non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill organization dedicated to eliminating animal suffering through hands-on rescue work, education, and awareness. The Race For The Rescues is a 5K, 10K, run/walk & kid’s fun run to benefit 10 non-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organizations.

There will be dog and cat adoptions and fun activities for all ages of animal lovers! There will be celebrity hosts Denise Richards, Mario Lopez of “Extra”, Eden Sher from ABC’s “The Middle” and Dot Marie Jones from “Glee.” There will be prizes and awards for top Racers and Fundraisers, free micro chips for the first 400 dogs and cats, huge silent auction, ‘Rockin’ Adoption Show”, face painting, Kid’s Hip Hop Dance Class, Best Pet Trick & Best Costume Contest judged by celebrity hosts, unique pet products and MORE!

Come on out and Run, Walk, Shop or Adopt to help save the life of a homeless dog, cat or horse!

Sit Means Sit will be at this year’s Glendale K-9s In The Park event on Saturday, October 15th.  This event is a fundraiser for the Glendale K9 unit and is a fun family event which includes live police K9 demos, photos with Glendale K9s, vendor booths, low-cost vaccinations, pet first aid seminars, contests, and more.  Admission is FREE!  Come out to Verdugo Park in Glendale and be sure to stop by and say hello to us!
