“Luci is a rescue dog that we were fostering for a year. We were starting to consider adopting her. We were noticing signs of dog aggression – she didn’t want to sniff other dogs, she was trying to bite them! We started searching for trainers. We were very drawn to SMS because of the free demo. Within 5 minutes of Leonard working with Luci, he had her sitting next to his 100+ lbs German Shepherd, Justice. I was sold! Luci was showing no signs of aggression and just sat there nicely. We signed up for the 6 private sessions and started training the following week. Now training is complete and I can take Luci to work with me (I work at a doggie daycare). We never thought that would be possible. It’s great! She even has friends at daycare that she plays with! I couldn’t have asked for better results!”

“Our dog, Kiani, would not listen to any of us. As she got bigger, our vet even told us, we better get her in obedience class. So we started researching for the right training for German Shepherds. We came across the website SitMeansSit and was very impressed with the training. More exciting was to find out there was a trainer right here on Maui. We called Scott Sanchez and he came and gave us a free demo which was unbelievable of what his dog does. We were sold. Once we signed up, Kiani went for training for a week and when she came home, what a change in her. She was so obedient and listened to us. Our neighbors are all amazed by her change. She is a joy to have around now. She and our grandson have gotten real close. Thank you Scott for your wonderful training and patience with Kiani and our family.”

“Thank you! You have added 2 hours to my day!”

“I no longer have to raise my voice or yell at them to get them to do something!”

“The most exciting transformation was Camille walking toward Mr. Bitts, and within range of him, altering her path in order to avoid him. Transformational! Usually she would lie in wait for him to wander into her sights (he is fairly blind and very frail), then attack him. The screams would bring me running to push her off him. She would have her fangs bared and a look to kill. Mr. Bitts would be bloody, limping, and shakey. Camille would run away from me, outside to the yard. Now she avoids him! I’m so impressed! I was terribly worried, as there are not many options for a 15yr old, nearly deaf aggressive dog. I really needed to turn her aggression toward Mr. Bitts around, or she would most probably have had to be put down. I hate to say it, but it’s true. If you know anything about how rescue works, you would know that Camille was so very out of options. Having had her for 15 years since puppyhood, I owed it to her to help her. I’m so grateful to Scott and Rhonda and Jade!”

“Our beagle Texas, had horrible possessive issues. Food would drop on the floor, she would rush to the food and snap and snarl if your hand even moved towards her or the food. 2 days after her final lesson, she had her ultimate test. My husband dropped a bowl of soup on the ground. Texas sat and waited until we were done cleaning! Awesome to see!!”

“The most exciting transformation my dog and I experienced after the beginning of our training program with Sit Means Sit is that I don’t have to wrap the leash around my hand and arm to be sure that Buddy doesn’t get loose on our walks. I no longer have to worry about Buddy going crazy when he sees or hears another dog on our walks. Not only is he successful when we are on walks but I can get him to come, sit, and place and turn on his target. We continue to work at these skills as well as others such as the remote sit. Even though our sessions are done, I hope to continue to learn and create success for my dog Buddy. Mahalo to Scott and his staff with Sit Means Sit.”

“Now, I can take him to the beach, let him run freely and know he will come home!”

“We mutually reinforce each others need to succeed.”

“Before SMS, I was at a point where I was concerned I could not physically control Odie if we were presented with a situation that triggered him to react strongly towards other dogs. I was being pressured to give Odie up because of on-going issues. As a parent, I did not want to teach my son that giving up on people and animals was right. The SMS training program has taught both Odie and I to be patient and to take our time in every environment and situation, to enjoy the journey and not just the destination. I’m able to take Odie to work without worrying about him jumping on clients or on walks without being dragged down the street. We live a far more relaxed lifestyle and his qualify of life has improved immensely given that I can take him anywhere now without anxiety. Our bond has strengthened and it’s wonderful to have the dog that looks to you for guidance, not the one who is deciding to take matters into his own hands.”

“Scott listened to the concerns and experiences I had with Abby and discussed why they might be happening and how to correct them. Scott provided extra lessons so I would feel confident continuing on my own. They also called to see how we were doing. I have much more control and I’m not afraid to venture out when other owners may be walking their dogs. Abby and I now have a fun and rewarding relationship. I can’t believe the transformation. I am so thankful!”

My puppy Chunk completed the SMS puppy basic course, then when I had to be away from the island I boarded her with SMS for the board and review program. I have come back from vacation to a puppy (almost six months now) who is so well mannered it amazes me. This is the only puppy I have ever had whom I have never had to yell at or spank (even before she was old enough to wear the collar). Thanks to Scott and the other trainers at SMS Hawaii I have a pit mix pup who will help prove that pits are NOT the evil killer dogs they are portrayed to be in the media.
