Motivation dog training method
Sit Means Sit Dog Training Houston – Teaching a dog to have motivation throughout the lesson is always a very good goal to have. I have had some requests to watch a training session with one of my own dogs, and how exactly it is that I train it. This is a session with my dog ‘Nash’ working on a ‘beg’ command, and also to take small turns in facing me. I am using a bite pillow as the toy for him, and it definetly takes some discipline for the dog to be very involved with the toy, but yet still come in and out of drive, and maintain the same enthusiasm at the end as he had in the beginning. |

Teach your dog not to charge doorways. (Episode 3)
Sit Means Sit Dog Training Houston – Teach your dog not to charge doorways. In this episode 3, we use a different trainer (Ashton Fitz-Gerald), that shows it is not about making excuses, but still about the handler doing his/her job even though this is not his dog, and the dogs are trying to play him a bit. As always, distraction is then brought in and his rules do not change, nor does his job. |

Teach your dog not to charge doorways (Episode 2)
Sit Means Sit Dog Training Houston – Teach your dog not to charge doorways is very beneficial. In episode 2, I show one of the techniques that we use and you can use at home. You can practice this particular dog training method numerous times throughout a day while you are at home. I am doing this with 3 dogs, none of which are mine. It is obviously a bit harder to control 3, but you will get the point in this video. Stay tuned for tommorrow’s daily dog training video as we will show another method with these dogs. |

Preparing a puppy for jump into a truck
Sit Means Sit Dog Training Houston – This is the way I start preparing a young puppy to jump into my truck. I like to practice for him sitting there at a distance while I prepare the truck to be opened. I then call him to me, and have him place his 2 front feet up on the bumper. This gives him a direct target to come to, and at only 3 1/2 months of age, he is still too small to have him jump all the way into the truck so I just lift him in. You can also put a treat or something into the kennel when you help him in if you’d like. This lets him practice sitting in place, and coming directly to a spot from a distance while he is learning this. |
