Dave, an exceptional dog trainer, worked wonders with our lab pup, Murph, during training in 2020. Murph returned home with impeccable manners and improved leash behavior. Dave patiently guided our family on reinforcing the training, and Murph has maintained those skills over the years. Recently, we revisited Dave for a quick refresher, and it’s truly remarkable how he effortlessly brought back those skills from the initial training in less than an hour. Murph responded to Dave’s calm tone and mannerisms, reinforcing proper behavior. Dave’s genuine and kind nature makes him the perfect person to trust with your pooch – we highly recommend Sit Means Sit.

Dave was an amazing help working with my energetic one year old Pitbull, Tyson. In just one training session with Dave, I could immediately see Tyson’s manners and listening skills getting better. Tyson is a stubborn pup, but Dave was able to quickly help me make adjustments in training and feel confident in keeping Tysons attention!

Dave was instrumental in creating a training approach for my dog Willa and I that was effective and also catered to her specific needs/personality. It was immediately clear upon meeting him the care and energy he puts into his craft as a dog trainer. He took his time to ensure that I understood how to best support Willa in training at the lessons and also at home.

I was beyond impressed by how quickly I noticed a change and improvement in Willa just after lesson one! He helps to establish clear boundaries for the dog and teach the handler how to put the lessons into practice in an approachable, step by step guide.

While the training journey has just begun for her and I, I cannot thank Dave enough for his help and support thus far! Sit Means Sit is an incredible program led by Dave and I highly recommend it to those who want a training program that will give you the skills to support your dog and their training journey for the rest of their life! Willa and I thank you so much!!

Getting my dog trained by Dave at Sit Means Sit was the best decision ever! Immediately, I noticed changes for the better in my dogs in his leash walking as well his obedience. I also believe that it has created a better relationship with my dog and I as he looks at me for reassurance and checks back in with my while off leash. I am so glad I chose to go with Sit Means Sit and would recommend it to anyone struggling with their pup!

We adopted our dog in 2019 and were told by many that he was untrainable. After having our first child, we decided it was time to find someone who could help us. He was snapping at people, wouldn’t listen, was over protect of the baby, and had become a liability. After working with Dave, our dog will now walk with us, listen to commands such as place, sit, and come, walk off leash, walk past other dogs without barking, and not bark excessively while he is outside. He is a completely different dog who we feel comfortable bringing him around other people. Dave took our “untrainable” dog and made him fun to be around again!

Dave is amazing! I have a 3 year old chihuahua/terrier mix, which is just an absolutely insane combination. Dave’s program worked like a charm to help focus her and, simply put, turn on her listening ears. She’s gained so much confidence in the last month and her behavior is noticeably calmer. I’d recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone looking to learn the fundamentals of dog training and for anyone who’s ready to commit to the consistency it takes to get true results.

David is amazing, he walked me through and Diesel on the things we were doing wrong and corrected Diesel behavior just in one hour together. He really knows how to train dogs!!! He behaved so well that leash wasn’t even needed!! Thank you so much!!

Dave has been a great trainer! We have a 10 month old female Corgi who needed a few behaviors corrected. Some of which included eating wood chips all the time, jumping on other people/dogs and pulling while we walked her. Since working with Sit Means Sit, it has been a night and day difference. Now, not only is most of those behaviors gone – I have the knowledge + resources to correct her in case she reverts back. Well worth the investment.

We had such a lovely experience working with the Sit Means Sit crew! They were thorough, accommodating, and an absolute pleasure to work with. They were happy to answer any questions and always willing to go the extra mile to make training sessions impactful and enjoyable. We feel confident as ever to work with our 2 year old mini Aussie and correct unwanted behaviors. Grateful for this team!

We are loving our experience at sit means sit! Dave is working wonders for our 8 year old pitbull. In just 3 visits we’ve noticed such a change in our dogs attitude and behavior. “old dogs can’t learn new tricks” but Dave has proved that wrong! We look forward to our future lessons and going out into the world with our new and improved good boy!

I had a great experience with Dave at Sit means Sit. He taught me a lot with how to handle my black lab puppy who has a lot of energy and wasn’t great at listening. It’s nice knowing that even though our classes are over I can reach out with questions or issues while I’m continuing to train Gus. I heard a ton of positive things about his program before I attended! I’m so glad Gus and I went there!

I can’t say enough good things about Dave at Sit Means Sit. He will take as much time needed to explain everything and help you learn how to train your dog. One thing I really learned is every dog can be trained, you just have to be willing to put the time in…. You get what you give!!

Sit Means Sit changed everything for our dog and our family. We have a 1 ½ year old Great Pyrenees, Ruthie. We have 3 children and all of us absolutely adore her. Unfortunately, she has proven to be incredibly true to the reputation of her breed and is incredibly stubborn. Despite very effective and disciplined training as a puppy, she was once tempted out of the electric fence of our yard and that was all it took to end her trained behaviors. From that moment forward, we were never able to contain her within our electric fenced yard. We had to build an entirely new physical fence around our 2-acre yard to try and safely enclose her. Yet, every opportunity she would get to break out, she did. She would run for a busy main road and somehow escaped multiple close calls with cars. Every walk we took her on, had to be on a tight leash and with that she had grown into such a large dog, that we were barely able to hold her back when something caught her attention. We couldn’t control her any longer. We knew that we both couldn’t reliably keep her safe nor ourselves when we were out in the world with her. It had gotten to the point that we decided we either had to regretfully let her go to a different home or find some sort of miracle training. That is what led us to SitMeansSit…all it took was one week and everything changed! She is one hundred percent still the snuggly, goofy and lovably dog our family adores. However, without any doubt, we can now take her anywhere, off leash completely, and she will come to our side if we ask her to. She run offs chasing deer if we allow it and then with one “come” request and push of the correctional remote-control button (which we have set on one of the lowest possible vibrating settings) she stops, turns and runs happily back to our side. It is amazing. We can now live and enjoy a life, out and about in the world anywhere we go, with our dog with us. In addition, we can even leave Ruthie out in the yard and trust that she won’t disturbingly bark at our neighbors. If she does start to bark at a time and/or in a way we think is inappropriate, all we have to do is give her one “quiet” command and push the correctional button and she calmly moves on to something else in the yard. We are just so grateful and in awe of the change that happened through Ruthie’s time with Will, our trainer at SitMeansSit, and all who helped with our Ruthie. We can’t say enough about what a great decision it was to trust and invest in SitMeansSit. They truly gave us back a life we never thought possible, with our loved dog, Ruthie.

Sit Means Sit was the best thing that ever happened to us! Our dog was 50lbs of crazy and after 7 days she listened to commands and was overall such a happier dog. We now can trust her off leash and around kids or anyone. She even started to play better with other dogs. Our lives have changed so much since sending our dog Layla to Sit Means Sit. Dave and his team were amazing!! I would highly recommend them to anyone !!

We had a hyperactive boxer that went into a frenzy around people and other dogs. Thanks to Dave and the Team there is so much more control and obedience. Other dog owners are now envious on how well behaved she is. I very much recommend this business.

I can’t say enough how much sit means sit has improved our lives. Our dog Willy hasn’t been home a full week yet and the change in him is unbelievable. He doesn’t pull the leash anymore, and listens to all the commands he learned in the 7 day program. Willy has severe separation anxiety and since coming home he will go in a crate (something that would never happen before) and we have high hopes that we will be able to let him stay home alone very soon! I spoke to Lauri and Dave prior to bringing Willy and they both made me feel very comfortable about the whole process. They are very understanding of how hard it is to leave your pet for a week! Chris was amazing when we came to pick Willy up. He explained everything so clearly and answered every question we had. It was really nice to see the bond he had made with Willy in just one week. Sit means sit is the best decision we’ve ever made for our dog and I’m so thankful for everyone there!

We highly recommend Sit Means Sit in Easton, MA!! We have a 4 month-old, very energetic German Shepard puppy, who loved to play rough, nip, and jump, especially with our 8 year-old son. Since attending the 10 day program, Max is doing wonderful!!! Without the help of Dave and his talented team, Max would not be the great dog he is today!! We continue to keep in touch with the trainers, who are very responsive, helpful, and informative . Thank you Sit Mean Sit for all you have done for Max and our family!!!! The entire experience has and continues to be amazing!

We went BIG with our first family dog, Eiffel! Eiffel is an 8 month old Great Dane puppy who quickly grew from a cute little pup, into a cute very large pup, that’s still growing! Right from the start, we tried in-home training, as well as a few puppy classes with him, but it was a challenge for our family of five to juggle our busy lives trying to put in the hours and consistency required to train our dog properly. We turned to the dog training experts at Sit Means Sit and entrusted them with a very important member of our family, Eiffel. The team at Sit Means Sit made us feel extremely comfortable from the very start about their process and approach to dog training. We felt they would do a great job AND take amazing care of our oh so special puppy, who we had grown to love. During the boarding training period, we received plenty of updates with videos/pics of Eiffel’s progress. He went from a nervous dog that couldn’t walk down our stairs, or easily hop into our cars, to being brave enough to do the SMS obstacle courses. He went from us begging and trying to coax him to please get up off the floor at night to go outside for one more potty run before bed, to a one command, up and out the door with ZERO stubborness. Dave, Terry, Chris, and ALL the trainers were fabulous! We knew Eiffel was well loved by all, AND came home such a smart boy! The trainers at Sit Means Sit did an awesome job on pick-up day to help train our family on the commands and how to reinforce the training lessons at home successfully. The results were night-and-day for our family with Eiffel and the training has been simple to maintain on our own. We are incredibly thankful for the help and TLC our whole family received, and even more so for the love we know Eiffel got during his time at what we call, “Manners Camp”. THANK YOU!!!!!!

Sit Means Sit has completely transformed my dog. I adopted my Coonhound Rory two years ago with little knowledge of his past. Rory was the most uncontrollable dog I had ever seen. He would run away all of the time, he would bark uncontrollably in the house, he was food aggressive, and whenever we tried to take a walk he would bark non-stop the entire time. I tried for months to train him and then hired a different personal dog trainer who also had no luck helping Rory. After a year of trying everything to help Rory, I considered giving him back up for adoption because I could not control him and neither of us were happy. Sit Means Sit was my last hope at keeping my dog and they were amazing! Rory now responds to all of his commands and we are able to take a walk without any barking! Also, I thought it was impossible to train a Coonhound to be off-leash, but Sit Means Sit has done it! Rory is such a happy dog now! I am able to take him on off-leash hikes, off-leash play dates with other dogs, and for a walk outside or in a store! The best part of Sit Means Sit is the continued support you receive. Any time anything comes up with Rory, if he ever has a lapse in his training, I can call Sit Means Sit and get a training appointment that week to help him get back on track. I cannot recommend this program enough!

Dave, Chris and the gang are completely committed to their training. They are extremely skilled and do amazing work with the dogs. Could not be happier.

If you want your beloved pets to be trained, this is a place you need to give full rein to teach and train your pets. They are wonderful, caring staff. Best team effort to help your pets become obedient.

We dropped off our out-of-control silver lab to Dave and his team @ Sit Means Sit – Massachusetts for his 2-week Board and Train Program. It was the last stop before finding Frankie a new home. Frankie was exhausting us, controlling everything in our house, couldn’t calm down even after getting tons of exercise at different dog daycares and nature walks/hikes, and worst of all… biting us to get our attention. He ripped jeans, broke skin, and had all of us afraid of our puppy! We have 2 girls under the age of 5 and were running out of options. Enter Dave and his talented team of trainers. Two weeks after completing Dave’s Board and Train program, Frankie is like a different dog. My girls were running around the beautiful outdoor facility (that looks a bit like an upscale playground!) and Frankie only paid attention to Dave. He sat, he stayed, he walked by his side. He was released to play and gave us tons of kisses. Then it was our turn to give commands to Frankie. And he listened! As we were wrapping up inside the office, Frankie sat peacefully on a dog bed for 20 minutes waiting for us to finish getting our own training brief from Dave. We are all in awe of his progress. We cannot wait to continue with Frankie’s training at home and are planning a long family walk tonight to celebrate with ice cream. Dave and his team will stay part of our family and training program for months and years to come. We are already planning to board Frankie @ Sit Means Sit – Massachusetts later this summer when we’re on vacation and Dave has assured us that anytime we need an in-home refresher course, he’s only a phone call or text away. The results are remarkable and we’re really looking forward to having Frankie be a good family dog. Thank you!

In such a short time Walter is confident, social, and able to follow commands. Thank you to the professional staff who provided these skills to Walter. He is now the dog we all knew he could be. 👍

Just picked my dog up after 10 days of boarding/training and I’m so pleased with the results so far. From Lauri, who took so much time to explain the process with me, to Chris and Dave the trainers, everyone was incredible. My dog, who is not an easy beast, is already more obedient and attentive. The amount of time Dave spent explaining and working with me when I came to pick Emerald up today was impressive. I can’t wait to see what else she has to show me she learned!

I can’t say enough great things about Sit Means Sit in Massachusetts. Dave Skoletsky and his staff are amazing. My dog Chloe is more confident in social situations and no longer reacts negatively towards other dogs. I can now walk her on a leash without being dragged in any situation. I am thrilled with the results! I highly recommend the board and train program.

Knoxx is now a great companion.  He was a rescue dog that was out of control.  Thanks to Sit Means Sit, we now have control of our house again.

Roxy was a retrieving maniac.  Thanks to Sit Means Sit Dog Training, she has become a great member of our family.  We don’t know what we would have done without you!

Eric & Maureen F.

Goliath could not be brushed. We’ve tried several trainers and training techniques and were even asked to leave a training class. After one session with Sit Means Sit, Goliath can be brushed without biting us! He even seems to enjoy it now!

Jean & Cody T.

I speak from experience when I say Sit Means Sit are excellent dog trainers. We receive many compliments on our well behaved dogs, thanks to Dave and his great staff. We are all much happier with our dogs as I know they are with us.

I just wanted to thank you and let you know how well Sammy and Sophie are responding to their training. Honestly, it feels like a miracle. We ran with both dogs on Monday morning. They both did a GREAT job. Thank you, already our lives have improved and both dogs seem happier.

Karen & Ken P.

Sit Means Sit has changed my out of control lab, Zoey, into a well-behaved dog. She pulled on a leash so badly that I couldn’t even take her for walks. After only one week, she was heeling off leash and right by my side. It was amazing! Now I enjoy hikes, walks, and other outings with her. I truly believe that Sit Means Sit can train any dog.

Lori N.

I am impressed with Sit Means Sit skills and techniques in training and even more impressed with their results. We have seen unmanageable dogs that become ladies and gentlemen with their tutelage.

The Sit Means Sit program enabled me to take my two dogs Gaea and Dayzee on mountain hikes without worrying about them chasing wildlife. It’s great to hike with my dogs and not worry about spooking the wildlife, thank you!
