Alex,
I wanted to give you one final update on our 3 dogs now that we are moved into our permanent house in Texas and finally almost settled. The dogs have been running free not just in the house, but in the yard since February without any problems. They get along fine again like nothing ever happened now, even when they are left unattended outside or inside. As examples yesterday I found them both laying on the bed cuddle together sleeping and then this morning they both were drinking out of the same water bowl at the same time.
Sasha at times attempts to show dominance over Gracie, which Stacey and I are correcting immediately. However, even when this happens they are not getting into it, they just move on. All 3 dogs now stand next to each other and bark at someone walking by without any issues. This was the last standing hurdle as previously when they got excited and were barking at something they tended to have an issue with each other being too close.
Being able to keep all 3 dogs and live a normal life with them means the world to Stacey and I so thank you so very much for all the effort you put into this and direction you provided….I wasn’t sure how well this would work going into it so I have been truly amazed and thankful.
Thanks again,
Ryan Overfelt
We just finished our last lesson with Alex Tutterow and our Golden/Border mix, Daisy, and I can’t say enough good things about Alex and his training. Alex is so patient with both us and our dog and the training is customized to suit your dog and their own personality. Everything seemed so much simpler after learning the correct commands and responses. We were concerned with Daisy chasing cars in our neighborhood and by the time we were finished (just a few lessons), Daisy was sitting and waiting for the car to pass – even without a leash. We are all so much happier and safer now. Daisy loved Alex and so did we! We can’t wait to join in on the group sessions. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Alex,
Thank you so much for the wonderful success we’ve enjoyed with our Mastiff Moose. Becky and I both were really appreciative of the individual time you took with us learning how to work with Moose and training him. Moose is the best dog I’ve ever owned. I think that while some of that is because of his breed and natural demeanor, a large part of it is the training we received through you.
Never before have I had a dog that I was so comfortable with off leash! The electronic leash works great as well – even Becky (who had her doubts about it) loves it. It gives us a gentle way to get Moose’s attention when he’s focused on something else. During Christmas, he took off after a cat that ran from him. Even while in full pursuit of the cat a quick, “Moose – COME!’ made him immediately break the chase, turn around and come back to me – all before reaching the road!
We enjoy taking Moose everywhere we can think of. So far, he’s gone to Home Depot, Lowes, Bass Pro Shop, and several others. Your training allowed us the confidence of taking him in public and KNOWING that he was going to be obedient and well mannered.
I guess it’s typical of Mastiff’s and maybe other breeds as well to go through adolescent phases. Having you as a resource and having the option of coming to class whenever we need (or want to) has been a huge help in the constant training of Moose. While he was going through his shyness phase at 1 1/2, it was good to be able to bring him back into the class and work with him more. Your advice helped us know how to get him in the environments he feared and work him through it.
All and all, I’m hooked on Sit Means Sit training. I’ve recommended you to several of our closest friends and will continue to do so.
Thanks for all you have done for us and Mister Moose the Mastiff!

For Those of You Looking For A Solution for A Better Dog, “This Is It!”
I knew from the first time I met Alex that He could Help Us. He has the Enthusiasm, Knowledge, Commitment and Understanding it takes to Teach anyone. He has helped me take “BARNEY”, my 2yr.old German Shorthair Pointer, To The Next Level of Training.
I had fears that the E-Collar would hurt my dog! So I tried it on Myself, and found my Medical Tens Unit for back-pain has more Intenesity than the collar. The collar is an Attention Getter (so Barney does not blow me off when I speak to him now) “IT WORKS GREAT”!.
We are now A Team in tune with each other and we have Fun Together. I Never Thought I Would Be Able To Work Barney Off Leash anywhere, But After The First Lesson, “WOW”! We now work together in th front yard Without A Leash.
He has Quit chasing cats, squirrels, and birds. This is Quite An Accomplishment For A Dog Bred To Hunt and Run.
The Private Lessons in my home were Absolutely Great! The Group Classes are very well. As I enjoy working with Alex and he always has something new for us to work on, plus we have Fun!
My goal with Barney is to be a Service/Therapy Dog and I had hit a dead-end with his training. Then we met Alex, I can now see this happening! We have learned so much in such a short period of time. We have reconnected and Barney enjoys learning.
“Sit Means Sit and Alex ‘PERFECT’ I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THEM! AAA+”
Thanks Again!

I have nothing but good things to say as does my immediate and extended family. Percy was a nervous, yappy, annoying little dog prior to SMS. My daughter left him with me and moved to Florida and I needed a serious intervention.
SMS was definately the answer.
He is much happier now.
Inever thought it would be possible, but I was wrong.
Percy (my Yorkie) is awesome and he and I have bonded unlike I ever expected. He loves to put on the collar to learn new things. Alex, your trainer, has been super for me and both my dogs he has trained has been super. He has been so patient with me and believe me I’ve needed it. My life has been turned upside down. I’ve had to cancel appointments several times. He’s terrific.
He come’s with a HUGE recommendation from me. Most people in this business are accustomed to training larger breeds, well, my guys are small: Yorkie and Maltese. Alex was honest and open with me on his experience. He answered all my questions and relieved my doubts and spent time with me, I never felt as if he was hurrying me. His appearance, his smile, his prompt attention to everything is a shining example of everything I would want my company to display. Fred, you would be proud if you could see Alex and Jackson work together. I’m a Neuro ICU RN so I know a professional when I see one and Alex is definitely one. I’m proud of him and you should be as well.
Sincerely,
Nancy Crawford
Rick and I adopted Ernie, a rescue dog, in December. We are unsure of his complete back ground. He was very afraid of people, other dogs, and any new situation. We could tell he was not socialized well. He displayed some aggressive tendencies, and we were unable to get him to listen to us.
We took Ernie to be evaluated at another dog training facility. They labeled him an aggressive dog, and a very BAD DOG. We did not see him that way, and so we continued searching. Rick got a referral to Alex and Sit Means Sit from someone who had experienced firsthand what could be done with the right training and the right tools.
Alex came out in June to evaluate Ernie and give us a demonstration. He worked patiently with Ernie and determined that he only has fear based aggression and is indeed a GOOD DOG. He needed guidance and leadership.
We have been so pleased with the outcome. We saw changes after the first session with Alex. People who knew how he was before say he is a totally different dog now. The change is amazing. Ernie is happier, more confident, more engaged with people, learning to ignore other dogs if he is not comfortable with them, and he actually listens to us now. Alex not only did an excellent job training Ernie, but he also had to train us to handle Ernie.
Thank you Alex and Sit Means Sit. Terri and Rick Lewis
Before Sit Means Sit, my two labs were uncontrollably wild. I was unable to take them anywhere off leash, and when they were on leash they were a hand full. Walks in the park and neighborhood were short lived because they pulled like a freight train. I was recommended SMS by a friend and I after the demo I couldn’t get started quick enough. When I put the time in with my girls, it really shows. After only one week of SMS, I was able to have both of my labs off leash in the yard throwing the ball. I never thought this would be possible because they both have extremely high drives and I never thought I could control them off leash together. Three months later, they have progressed greatly and are doing well with their commands- when I make sure to put in the time with them.
All in all, you (Alex) and SMS have enabled my wife and I to enjoy our dogs more and have some order to our household.
Thanks Alex!
