Testimonial for Sit Means Sit
Our Germane Shepherd, Pepper, was only 3 months old we started him in obedience classes. These obedience classes used a choke chain and hand signals to train. When he was young it was easy to use the choke chain, he was very smart and knew what was expected of him. But as he grew to be over 100 pounds, feisty and his fur became very thick and long it become very difficult to use just a choke chain so our trainer suggested we use a choke chain with barbs on it. These are very pointed and became tangled in his long fur not to mention the pain it produced. We took him to continual classes for about 18 months then decided that we could manage him from home. During the next year he became very aggressive and he pretty much learned to control the family including anyone coming to our front door, into our home or even close to our car when he was in it with us. He also decided he didn’t like anyone talking loud or raising their hand or any close contact between people Then during a visit from our great-grandchildren who were only one and two years old, Pepper acted vicious and uncontrollable and we knew then that we had to find an alternative obedience class. We found Sit Means Sit, called and Jori came over and showed us what she could do with him in less than 5 minutes. We were amazed! We were finally able to take Pepper out into public, which we do all the time. He loves to walk the River Walk and meet and greet adults including children. After three years we still try to go to classes every weekend as Pepper really enjoys all his dog friends.

Thanks Jori
Words cannot describe how I feel about Jori and SIT MEANS SIT. The first word that comes to mind is AMAZING! Thanks to Jori and SIT MEANS SIT, I am able to have the relationship with Brutus I have always wanted. I had thought I had done a good job of training my dogs, but now, I know I can do an amazing job, thanks to Jori. Before we started working with Jori I was nervous to take Brutus places and he was difficult to walk on a leash. Great at home, but not in public. Now, just two months later I can take him anywhere and he can walk off leash. He can be placed in a spot and I can walk around and talk and I never worry if he will stay, because thanks to SIT MEANS SIT, I know he will be safe. The wonderful part is, you will see a difference immediately and your dog will enjoy it. Brutus and I think the world of Jori and look forward to class every week. Forever grateful, Alicia and Brutus

Carol And Spiffy
Spiffy was a 6 month old mini daschund when we started SIT MEANS SIT. He barked a lot, chewed paper and furniture. He loved to ride in the car, but wouldn’t mind.
Now he doesn’t chew anything, but if he forgets, telling him “off” makes him quit immediately!
Barking is only a small problem that is getting better all the time. He’s very high strung and as he matures, I think this will lessen. When we ride in the car, he behaves so much better- he usually sits or lies down and obeys my commands.
Jori has given me the commands that Spiffy understands and he does them to please me, his tail wags when he comes, sits, jumps, or anything else I ask him to do. He is happy and so expressive with his behavior when he looks at me. I know he is a happy to please me.
I have also learned not to yell at him. I talk in a calm voice, this helps him to understand I mean business. the yelling just scared him.
I was having a lot of trouble with my 70 yr old knees and going up and down the steps to let Spiffy out and in was taking its toll. Now I can let him out and when I call him, he comes. Also, if I hear him barking, I can tell him quiet and he quits.
Another difficulty was how excited he got when we go for a ride or walk. Jori gave me some tips to try so he would mind better when going out. Now I ask him to sit on the porch until I’m ready for him to get in the car. WOW!!!
I also needed to do some time on the computer, but Spiffy was always wandering away or wanting my attention. Jori suggested I put his bed close by and use that as his “place” and darned if he just stays there and takes a nap.
THANK YOU Jori for all your tips, patience, time, expertise in helping me understand Spiffy and what he needs. After being ‘”off leash” we have a new goal and that is to be like Jed. So laid back, so able to follow commands so effortlessly. He is an inspiration.

Thanks to the sit means sit staff for their support, we have not been to class in a while(oops!!!!) but Tonka did an amazing job this weekend at the Wild Wild West festival. We had no problems with keeping him on the leash, walking through the crowd, and listening to our commands!!!! I was so proud to show him off and he enjoyed all the attention he got from (the little people)kids. we are still working on walking off leash and hope to make it trhough the veterans test!!!!! (whishful thinking)ha ha ha ha!!!
Hi Miriam,

Guys, today was the first day I tackled Luna and Lobo alone to work them. I was able to get each one of them out of the run with no trouble and I so enjoyed my walk with them. We have totally different dogs and I cannot thank you enough for what you have done and are doing (with Charlotte). I so enjoyed Luna and Lobo this weekend and I am just amazed at being able to manage them alone with so much ease. I love you guys so much, not only have you given Luna and Lobo a new world but you have given me one as well!!
