Nothing but Daisy.

This video really captures the personality that is Daisy.
She is sweet and affectionate. She is energetic, but lazy at the same time. She listens even when she obviously doesn’t want to. She is a great dog.

Daisy needs a permanent home. Won’t you help her find it?

We need your opinions!

This little guy is the newest edition to the team. He’s a Miniature Australian Shepherd and only 5 weeks old.

We can’t decide on a name, but we’ve narrowed it down to two.

So we ask you… Jager or Ruger?

Let us know which you prefer by leaving a comment on this post!

Mt Rose Group Glass Hike

We all met up at the Tahoe Rim Trail Head Sat am at 10. It was a beautiful day!! And what a class. 3 people and 7 dogs all off leash!!!!!!!! A German Shepard ( had been dog aggressive , a Brittaney (had been dog aggressive) our two foster dogs, Annie and Acorn, Keyonnie wolfdog, Captain, Border Collie and Tango a mini aussie. What a treat for all A little mud from the recent snow but the dogs sure enjoyed the snow found here and there!! We met many many other hikers and dogs. Every time we had our dogs come to our side and sit and politely let all pass. Of course we only heard good comments. The funniest one we hear quite often is that we look like a commerical. No sure why but whatever. So we came home with sound asleep dogs spread out all over that van.

Nevada Humane Society Event

The Nevada Humane Society does so much for the homeless and unwanted pets in the Reno/Sparks area. If you have ever adopted a dog or cat from them you know just how much they do and how much of it relies on the public’s time and donations.

Every dog and cat that passes through the doors of the NHS gets a full medical evaluation, gets fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and even microchiped. All of those procedures runs about $250 dollars an individual and that doesn’t include the cost of food and what they pay the staff that takes care of them. They run entirely on your donations.

If you can stop by and buy one item you have just helped save the life of one more cat, dog, bunny, hamster, or iguana.

Best wishes to you all!

Miracles Happen

Yesterday was a full day.  A bit personal too.  Took Keyonnie my wolf dog and hiked in and up a peak that was about 10, 340 feet.  Keyonnie was like a goat.  Such a good companion and so nice to have a dog that listens so well off leash.

Then our first appt. with Erick and Shannon and their pit/lab mix,  Toby.  Last nights  lesson was just learning the basics and building blocks , people and dogs.  Toby is so so smart.  He just picked it all up so fast.  Erick, Shannon and their friend were a little amazed .  They all agreed, so much faster than the old methods…..So much fun….

Candy Dance and old Friends.

The Candy Dance this year was rather laid back and quiet. At least for us Sit Means Sit Dog Trainers. It was great for our foster dogs and ours. Just more training time. Learning to Place, sit, stay, walk close to us and let tons of people pet them.
We also saw many clients and some with their dogs. They came by, said hi got some brush up on manners in the exciting crowds of the Candy Dance.!!

Grand Opening of Douglas County’s First Dog Park

Yup, you read right. It’s finally happened. I haven’t seen it yet; I’ve only read about it in the paper, but it states…

“Dog Park. The grand opening of Douglas County’s first dog park is 10am Oct. 9 at James Lee Park, 3394 James Lee Park Road, in Carson City.

Information, 267 – 2805, ext 28.”

That’s verbatim! We won’t be there, we have a group hike, but maybe someone could go and tell us what it’s like!

Have fun and be safe everyone!

Candy Dance With The Foster Dogs

Today went well at the Candy Dance. Tango is not new to these shows so she always just settles in easily.

Annie and Acorn did well today. Annie growled at a couple men, but nothing more. Certainly this was not acceptable behavior and she was disciplined accordingly, but she has come a long way. In the shelter she had no restraint and gave no warning of her discomfort. Acorn did well too. She didn’t mind all the strangers in our booth, but she got tired quickly. She chose to spend the majority of the day stuffed in a crate that was too small for her, under the table, with just her nose and toes sticking out of the crate.

There were plenty of people that thought Annie and Acorn were adorable, but no serious adoption inquiries.

There is still tomorrow!
