Lindsey and Luna

We are very impressed with the Sit Means Sit Dog Training and their way of teaching Luna good, positive behaviors. We had no idea we would be able to take Luna out without a leash, or that she would be so responsive to the training techniques. She has learned so well now that she can be trusted without a leash, which is AWESOME for us.

Yvette and Truffles

Truffles is ahead in training then my previous dogs so I am happy that I made the investment. Truffles loves the group classes & the interaction with the other dogs. I feel like a parent watching their four-legged child make new friends & enjoying herself. Truffles and I love Jon and the wealth of knowledge and experience that he and his associates bring to the gatherings.

Jaime and Todd with Callie
David & Jon with Sit Means Sit completely changed our relationship with our dog. We hadn’t had Callie for very long, but we had already begun to feel the pains and frustrations of adding a puppy to a family full of young children. She was a very sweet pup, but was a handful and just enough out of control that my wife decided something had to change if we were going to keep the dog. Just about the time Callie had us completely worn us out, we met David and his dogs at a local event. We were very impressed with their presentation and soon became very impressed with their system and their character. We invited them into our home to start training and within a matter of weeks Callie was a new dog and everyone (including Callie) was happy. David and Jon were great and the Sit Means Sit system really works. I have recommended them to everyone I know with a dog and can’t imagine a situation where they wouldn’t receive my vote of confidence.

Rachael and Al with Callaway
Callaway, our English Bulldog, started displaying signs of aggression around 1 year of age. This started with him not liking just a couple of breeds, but the behavior soon escalated to him trying to attack most dogs bigger than him. As a very strong dog, we were concerned about him overpowering us and actually attacking another dog. We also worried about any friends or family who might walk him, and them not being ready, or strong enough to hold him back from a dog that he perceived as a threat. It was important to us to stop this behavior as soon as possible!
As a result, we researched and interviewed dog trainers in the Denver area, and felt that the Sit Means Sit 2-week board and train would be our best option. Jon explained the process and made us feel very comfortable with him “adopting” our dog for the next 14 days. He emailed us to update us on progress, and sent pictures and videos of Callaway training and playing with dogs he would otherwise be aggressive with. It was great to see the personal attention he was receiving.
Upon completion of his board and train, Jon demonstrated how to use the collar so we were put back in control of Callaway. At first we were not thrilled with the idea that he had to wear his collar all of the time, but shortly realized that training/learning opportunities were around every corner! We can now walk Callaway without the fear of him becoming overly aggressive towards any other dogs. The odd times that we notice him starting to display signs of aggression, we use our buzzer and he responds immediately! We look forward to continuing to work with Sit Means Sit at the group sessions, and to see the continuous improvement in Callaway’s behavior and his responsiveness to our commands. We would highly recommend this program to anyone considering obedience training for their dog, as we feel it has greatly improved our dog’s behavior.

Nancy and Daisy
Daisy was a joy from the moment she entered my life – but had a few not so nice habits that I couldn’t seem to fix – jumping on people to greet them for one and the worst habit was pushing her way past people out any and all doors and taking off at a dead run! After nearly losing her numerous times in many different locations, I was afraid for her safety and was at my wits end. On a sunny Saturday at Aspen Grove I happened to pick up a flyer about “Sit Means Sit” and made a phone call that afternoon. That call and the resulting demonstration changed our lives. Daisy and I now enjoy our walks even more (even without a leash when allowed!), travel without fear of being separated, work in the front yard together, answer the door politely and the list could go on and on. Daisy is a happy, safer dog and I am a thankful, happier owner.
I would highly recommend “Sit Means Sit” and Jon and David to everyone!

Jeanette and Mike with Ginger
We saw a Sit Means Sit demonstration a few weeks after we had hired and started with a dog trainer for our new puppy. I was so impressed with the Sit Means Sit demo because the dogs really listened to the trainers. I took a card and waited two weeks to meet with Jon. We wanted our dog to obey us primarily for safety reasons. We live on a busy street and after a neighbor’s child was killed, by running out in front of a car, we knew how fast a life, whether it be dog or human, can be taken. We also wanted a dog that would be very well behaved in public. Jon came out for a consultation and I knew after speaking to him that he was exactly what our puppy needed.
After our second session with Jon, we phoned the first trainer and told her that we will not be continuing with her classes, even though it was totally paid for. It was a waste of our time. The first trainer was more interested in showing our puppy how to go after a treat instead of having her learn a behavior. Ginger would see another dog and care more about the other dog than the treat. Sit Means Sit offers a variety of trainings. We picked the one-on-one training that then moves on to the group sessions. We try and work with her every night. Its fun to bring her to the dog park and have her be the best-behaved dog there. It doesn’t matter where she is, or what she is doing at the dog park, when we call she comes!
We saw an improvement in Ginger the very first lesson. It has made a big difference in potty training, chewing, and other puppy behaviors. We wish we had known about Sit Means Sit before our last dog had passed away. She was very aggressive to all other dogs and some people. She missed out on a lot of things because we couldn’t go outside of our yard or house with her. We know the training would have made a world of difference.

Jon and Lynne with Bentley
Our Golden Retriever, Bentley, was 7 months old when we first contacted Sit Means Sit. After spending 10 to 15 minutes in the morning just trying to get him to come in the house and chasing him around the backyard before going to work, we knew he was going to be a handful. We had looked at a few different training options and heard about Sit Means Sit through an acquaintance and on their website. We made the initial call and set up an appointment for a demo. As our appointment got closer, I realized this company uses an electric collar and I immediately called to cancel the appointment. After expressing my concern, we were persuaded to go through with the appointment, no obligation whatsoever. Well, it is now a year later and our Bentley, who was initially known as “A Ferrari without brakes” has not only learned the basic commands but is now walking without a leash, learning more advanced tricks, has incredible social skills and gets to see his friends each week in group class with his own personal trainers. I cannot say enough about Jon Langdon & David Smith. When we first met Jon he came to our house and took the time to go over the program, the possibilities and most important, how the collar is used. We were given the opportunity to “demo” the collar ourselves. I can honestly say it took me a few weeks and a few one-on-one training sessions to get over my apprehension about the collar, but now I do not know what we would do without it and our trainers. The love, dedication and passion these guys have not only for their jobs, more importantly for our Bentley is amazing. The personal attention and education they have given us is incredible. To this date, Bentley can’t wait for group class each week to show off what he has learned plus he gets to play with all his friends he has grown up with. Sit Means Sit helped us put the brakes on our little Ferrari and we found some new friends along the way! I would recommend Sit Means Sit to anyone hands down. Jon & David, you guys are the best!

Chris and Brenda with Chance
My wife Brenda, our 5-year-old daughter and I adopted a dog that we named Chance. When he was old enough we started looking into some training for him since our Veterinarian told us he was going to be a big dog. We did not want a large untrained dog around our daughter.
We had Jon come over and do a demo at our house with his dog Remy and although Jon can do some amazing things with his dog, we were just not convinced about their methods of dog training so we looked at some alternatives. Our Vet recommended a trainer and after spending a fair amount of money for 5 sessions, we just did not see the results we were looking for. Plus I was tired of carrying around a pocket full of dog treats. We then turned to nationally known company and had them come out and do a demo for us. She told us that our daughter would not be able to give Chance commands since she would be viewed as a sibling and not as a person of authority. Their methods were based on a-lot of repetitions and I just did not have the time, patience or motivation to do the same thing over and over and over again. I am sure my dog did not either. When she asked us what other trainers we looked into we mentioned Sit Means Sit. She said, “Man those guys do some amazing things with their dogs” and when we heard a Sit Means Sit competitor say that it kind of sealed the deal for us.
We called Jon and after 4 months from his original visit he still remembered who we were and evened asked about Chance. We had him come over soon after, and that night we got down to business and starting training. Sure there are repetitions, but Chance learns quicker and retains that information a lot better so he is not bored and nether am I. Chance is now a very well trained dog! Even my daughter is able to command him with ease. We took him camping to a very full campground in the mountains with three other families (7 kids with one being two years old) and we never once had to put him on a leash. Everyone was amazed and commented on what a great dog he is.
Chance never turned out to be a big dog but he is awesome and we never go anywhere without him. With Sit Means Sits onetime payment we now have training for the rest of Chance’s life.

Sit Means Sit may have saved our dog’s life. When we selected Sit Means Sit we were concerned our beloved German Shepherd would chase lions around our mountain home. He has a predatory and protective nature and had twice chased bears out of sight and beyond hearing range. Our efforts to call him back were futile. Same thing with deer, elk and fox. He always came back when he was good and ready. We see mountain lions occasionally and were fearful that if he chased a lion, the lion would kill him. Well, the dreaded cougar encounter has since occurred. The mountain lion passed in his path not thirty feet away. He started to give chase. We called him back and thanks to our Sit Means Sit training, he came. He let the lion go. We are very grateful. The training may have saved his life. He is now well behaved and we take him into public places, around other dogs and near wildlife with no drama. Working with Jon has been very rewarding and a lifesaver. We are grateful.
