How did Remy perform in the qualifying rounds in the Stihl DockDogs World Championships this year?
Remy did very well. With his first jump for big air he went out to 25’5″ sending him straight through to quarter finals. In Iron Dog, I thought he did well. He did not make it through on his first attempt, but he made it the next day.
How did Remy do overall in the World Championships this year? Any new personal bests?
He took third in both of his disciplines, Iron Dog and Big Air. Remy set a new personal best for Speed Retrieve with a time of 5.6 seconds!!!
What are some of your favorite things about the World Championships this year?
It was my first time out, and with nothing to compare it to it is very difficult to say. But if I had to make a decision, it would have to be all the competitors. Everyone was very friendly and supportive of each other. I think Dock Dogs is one of the only sports that I know that you want to beat the other competitor but at the same time you are cheering them on.
What did you think about the Outdoor Channel filming at the World Championships and them having the big Jumbotron there? Did you see Remy on the Jumbotron?
To be honest with you, I tried to pretend the cameras were not there. It was definitely an experience! As far as seeing Remy or myself on the Jumotron, I did not look. I was too focused on my dog and doing what I needed to get the job done.
What did you think about the crowd at the World Championships? What kind of vibe did you feel from the crowd?
The crowd was very large. It was just too bad they were set so far back, it limited the interaction that we could have with them.
