Texas Represented in the Super Bowl

While the Cowboys & Texans missed out on making it to the Super Bowl this year, there is a large number of players with Texas ties. In total there are 12 players amongst the Chiefs & 49ers who played High School Football in Texas. There are 6 Texas College Football teams represented by Super Bowl players this year including the Texas (UT), Texas A&M, Baylor, SMU, TCU, & Texas Tech. Most famously of those players are the Chiefs Patrick Mahomes and Armani Watts.

Patrick Mahomes #15 – Chiefs QB

Mahomes was born less than two hours outside Dallas in Tyler Texas. He played Football, Baseball, and Basketball for Whitehouse High School. After High School he spent three years playing football at Texas Tech before being drafted tenth overall in the 2017 NFL draft by the Chiefs. Outside of football Mahomes is a huge dog lover and even has an Instagram account for his two dogs Steel & Silver.
