The Best Colors to Get Dog Toys in

You probably know that your four-legged friend perceives the world differently than you do. They see colors differently too. This affects what toys are best and which ones they are more likely to play with.

What Do Dogs See?

You may have asked the question, “are dogs colorblind?” Well, the answer is they are not completely colorblind. Dogs have red-green color blindness. This is known as deuteranopia and means that your pal has difficulty seeing red and green. So, your companion can more easily see yellows and blues.

Outdoor Settings

If you are looking for toys for your pal to play with outside, you will want to avoid yellow. This is because the grass is likely to look more yellow to your companion and a yellow tennis ball will be more difficult for your pup to find. So, blue toys are the best option when having fun outdoors.

Indoor Settings

When shopping for toys for your pal to use inside, you have much more freedom. You can even choose colors that your dog can’t necessarily see. However, this does not apply if you have brightly colored carpets or rugs that will make colored toys hard to see. So, if you have neutral-colored carpet or flooring, you have a lot more possibilities when it comes to toy shopping.

So, because dogs see in yellows and blues, it is best to stick to these colors when shopping for toys. However, you are not limited to these colors! If your pal frequently plays indoors, the possibilities are endless.
