Enrichment activities improve your pal’s mental state by challenging their brain. These activities are key to a happy and healthy dog. Activities include playing, chasing, smelling, chewing, and scavenging. This allows your best friend to be satisfied emotionally, mentally, and physically. Below are 4 simple recipes to make for your dog that are both delicious and enriching.

Nutty Monkey

For this, you will need frozen bananas, peanut butter, plain yogurt, and a hollow chew toy. Put a spoonful of PB into the toy and tap it on the counter to get it to fall to the bottom. Then, place a frozen banana piece into the toy and gently push it into the peanut butter. Then cover with more peanut butter, plain yogurt, then (of course) more peanut butter.

Savory Apple

This recipe calls for apples and peanut butter. First, remove the core of the apple with an apple corer. Then fill the hole with peanut butter, and freeze overnight.

Savory Pup-kin

All you need is dry dog food, canned pumpkin, dehydrated chicken, and fresh bananas or applesauce. First, mix one large can of pumpkin with a half cup of chicken. then stir in 2 mashed bananas or 1 cup of applesauce. Place some dry dog foot into a hollow chew toy and add 3 or 4 scoops of your mixture over the top. Gently push a large treat into the mixture so that it is peaking out of the toy but is still secured in the mixture.

Icies

First, place various sized empty containers in your freezer to get nice and chilled. Then, pour enough dry food into each container so that the bottom is covered. However, don’t make it more than 1 inch thick. Then add a biscuit or a few soft treats into each container. Then, fill each container with diluted beef or chicken broth and let it freeze overnight!

These four simple recipes are easy to make and your pooch will certainly enjoy! Your pal will appreciate you making such special treats that aid his happiness and health!

If you are looking for more than pet friendly restaurants for your pup to enjoy, enrichment treats are excellent.
