"Doberman"

Client’s Name: Wendy

Dog’s Name: “Jasper”

City: Austin, TX 78704

Breed: Purebred Doberman

Likes: Jasper loves to harass his big brother Hank. He plays at 100% full steam, chewing, tugging, jumping, wrestling, then passes out. He’s a clown to be sure.

Pet-Peeves: He hates to have his nails dremeled. Can’t say I blame him…

Favorite Toy: Jasper loves the stuffed toys with a squeak in their belly and rope arms and legs. He promptly surgically removes the squeak, along with all of the surrounding stuffing and then begins to shred the rope arms and legs. Its total destruction in under 8 hours.

Favorite Treat: Jasper loves all treats, but peanut butter is at the top of his list. Followed by chicken jerkey and then milkbones.

Favorite Walk: The park (Auditorium Shores). He loves to swim, chase and be chased by other dogs.

Best Trick: Shake (right now, hope to have many more in his ‘bag’ as his training progresses)

Arrival Story: “An ex had dobies growing up, and managed to convince me that a dobie was a great fit for me and my Ridgeback. I did some research and found a breeder here in town with a great reputation and beautiful dogs. I went and met with her a few times, and after spending time with several of her adult dogs, I was hooked, and knew I wanted my puppy to come from her family.

I love the goofiness combined with the quiet strength in the breed. I picked Jasper out of his litter, and knew within the first five minutes he was the puppy I had been looking for. I brought him home at 10 weeks old, and he has been adding joy to my life ever since.”

Why Training / Sit Means Sit: “Jasper is a headstrong puppy that operates at 100% full blast. He is a great dog, but because of his looks and size, I did not want to take the chance that he would run up to somebody and scare them half to death. Instead, I want him to be a well behaved goofball, one who can play to his hearts content, but still be controlled in his zest for life.

I wanted a system for life, one that I could use day in and day out to have a well mannered, fun to be around dog. Sit Means Sit seemed to fit both myself and Jasper, and I am excited to see the dog he grows into.”

Motto: “Goofball or Clown.” He’s all teethy, cheesy grin. Wants to play all the time. He’s a constantly crashing into something, finding something to play with, or a way to harass myself or his brother. Life= fun to Jasper.
