{"id":3868,"date":"2026-01-13T12:20:51","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T17:20:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sitmeanssit.com\/dog-training-mu\/metro-detroit-dog-training\/?page_id=3868"},"modified":"2026-06-04T14:02:01","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T18:02:01","slug":"conformation-handling-classes","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sitmeanssit.com\/dog-training-mu\/metro-detroit-dog-training\/conformation-handling-classes\/","title":{"rendered":"Conformation | Handling Classes"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>2026 Conformation Dog Handling Classes<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesdays 5:30pm &#8211; 6:15pm<\/li>\n<li>Classes begin January 21st, 2026 and will run unless otherwise posted on this page.\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>No class Wednesday, June 17th<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">No class Wednesday, July 1st<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>This class is suitable for all levels of skill.<\/li>\n<li>$15 per class <em>(cash, Venmo or CashApp)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instructor: Kristie Stocker<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kristie Stocker is a Professional Handler of over 20 years and has recently competed with an Ibizan Hound at the 2026 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.\u00a0 She also is a co-breeder and owner of multiple dual champion, group placing, and nationally ranked show dogs in the U.S. and Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Details about this class:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Registration<\/strong>: All classes are on a walk-in basis, no pre-registration required!\u00a0 Payment can be made on site to Kristie.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Skill Level:<\/strong> Classes are suitable for all experience levels, including junior handlers.\u00a0 Anyone under the age of 18 will be required to bring a parent or guardian. Dogs of all ages are welcome.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Class Focus:<\/strong> In each session, there will be a focus on stacking and gaiting with a personalized guidance on polishing your dog\u2019s performance in the ring.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Dog health:<\/strong> Dogs must be healthy. Any dog that shows symptoms of illness or lameness should not attend this class. If an instructor determines your dog is not well or not behaviorally suited for class, you will be politely asked to leave the facility for the health and safety of all dogs in our facility.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Equipment:<\/strong> Dogs should be on an appropriate show lead.\u00a0 You are welcome to bring treats to reinforce behaviors.\u00a0 An appropriate carrier or travel crate may be needed.\u00a0 If dogs must be kept in cars, appropriate care should be taken to ensure they stay warm\/cool as needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>One handler per dog:<\/strong> One dog per handler at a time.\u00a0 Multiple dogs can attend but must be safely contained for their turn.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>What to expect when arriving at the SMS facility:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Entering the building:<\/strong> Come in through the door labeled \u201cGroup Class Entrance\u201d. When facing the building, this is the door on the left, to the left of the bay doors.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Arrival time:<\/strong> Please do not enter more than 15 minutes early, as there may be other activities happening.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Safety: <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do not allow your dog to go up to any dogs on the premises. SMS does train dogs with behavior issues, so this is for everyone\u2019s safety.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will be required to sign in and acknowledge a liability waiver for each class.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are no dogs allowed entry on the adjacent Immersion Inn training floor.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Restrooms:<\/strong> Restroom on premises, but no dogs are allowed in.\u00a0 You must have a safe place to leave your dog whether it be a travel crate or your car.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Questions about this class can be directed to: kestocker@hotmail.com.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2026 Conformation Dog Handling Classes Wednesdays 5:30pm &#8211; 6:15pm Classes begin January 21st, 2026 and will run unless otherwise posted on this page.
