Here are some ways to protect your dog from overheating.<\/p>\n<h2>Early Signs<\/h2>\n<p>Here are a few early signs of overheating:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heavy panting<\/li>\n<li>Dry or pale gums<\/li>\n<li>Increased drooling<\/li>\n<li>Deep and rapid breathing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Prevention<\/h2>\n<p>Prevent these early signs by doing the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t overexert your dog on walks or during playtime<\/li>\n<li>Find a shady spot for your dog to rest<\/li>\n<li>Have lots of drinking water ready<\/li>\n<li>Place clothes soaked in cold water on your dog\u2019s paws, head, and neck if they appear to be overheating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Other Tips<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t assume just because your dog is in water that they can\u2019t over heat. Always keep an eye on them.<\/li>\n<li>NEVER leave your dog in the car. Even if it is only 80 degrees outside, it can get up to 100 degrees inside the car.<\/li>\n<li>Go to animal hospital quickly if you ever think your dog is overheating. Better safe than sorry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Summer is the time to spend lots of quality time playing with your dog and having fun!
