Orange County is home to numerous fantastic dog parks, all within a five-mile radius. Regardless if your dog prefers Irvine Central Bark or Lagoon Woods, why not try them all out? What better day to spend outside trying new dog parks than Earth Day? You catch some sun while Fido gets to play; it doesn’t get better than that!

Donate Dog Supplies

If you have a basket of donations collecting dust in your garage, it’s time to visit your local donation center! While organizing your donations, take inventory of your furry friend’s items too. Pet parents love to hold onto pet supplies they don’t need, so why not donate them to a dog shelter? Recycle gently used towels, blankets, toys, bowls, leashes, etc., keeping these items out of the landfill and producing a second life for them.

Find a New Walking Trail

Orange County is home to over 25 excellent scenic trails for dog walking! Using AllTrails.com, we rounded up two favorite picturesque courses for you and Fido to appreciate Mother Nature in her best form!

Peters Canyon and East Ridge View Trail Loop

A popular spot for hiking and running, this 4-mile loop is moderately challenging but produces the best views! This loop estimates about two hours, gaining about 482 feet in elevation. The park is open from 7 am to sunset and has a small parking fee ($3).

Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve Loop

Located inside the ecological reserve, this easy-level trail loop totals 5.2 miles with gorgeous views of Newport Bay and its natural marsh ecosystems. The reserve provides Fido with new terrain to explore while humans can appreciate the wetland flora and fauna! No parking or entry fee is required!

Make some Eco-Friendly dog items

We’re all guilty of holding onto old t-shirts we’ll never wear again; let’s make them into DIY dog toys! One of the easiest methods is to cut the shirt into strips and braid them together to create a fun new tug toy!
