Nobody is perfect, we all have bad habits we try to break whether it be poor timeliness or procrastination, we’ve all been there. But, some of our bad habits can affect our pups without us even knowing. Knowing some of them could actually be the motivation you need. So to help we’ve made a list of some hard to break habits that are harmful to Fido.<\/p>\n
If you or anyone in your home smokes you canine companion is most likely breathing it in secondhand. Now while it is rare for a dog to develop lung cancer, the smoke can still cause them to develop allergies and chronic respiratory disease. Quitting would be the best solution but it can be hard, so lean off it slowly take care of your pup in the meantime. Regularly patting down your furry friend with a damp towel will help in removing smoke particles that they could end up licking off and digesting.<\/p>\n
Not wearing your seatbelt while driving is hazardous for humans and pets alike. If you have a habit of leaving your seatbelt off, you may be forgetting to put one on your dog as well. Allowing your dog to roam free in the car is a recipe for disaster. First of all, they create a massive distraction for the driver and secondly they could end up injured if you suddenly brake to a halt. Play it safe and make sure your pup is always secured correctly when in a vehicle.<\/p>\n
Overeating is easy to do especially when you’re bored. Over snacking too much though can lead to weight issues down the road. If you’re also sharing with your\u00a0four-legged friend, it can lead to health problems with them as well. A lot of foods we eat every day can actually be extremely toxic for dogs, so to play it safe you should stick to dog food when it comes to Fido. This can also help you if you snack too much because if you’re not snacking\u00a0your pup will have nothing to beg for.<\/p>\n
If your exercise routine is nonexistent, your poor pup’s probably is too. Regular exercise is crucial in maintaining your dog’s health, it keeps their weight in check, improves lung capacity, and builds muscle mass. Make your\u00a0canine companion’s health a priority and also use it as a motivator to start that exercise routine you’ve been thinking of.<\/p>\n
