Taking your dog to the park is a refreshing and fun way to get in their exercise that they will be sure to appreciate. To help here is a list of a few of the best parks to take your furry friend in San Antonia<\/p>\n
This vast 311-acre park has two addresses, one for both the west and east side Phil Hardberger Park<\/a> is perfect for a nice walk with your dog since they offer loop trails with plenty of shade. Many of the paths offer natural surfaces instead of pavements which are great for your dog’s knees, paw pads, and joints. As an added bonus they even offer doggy water fountains by many of their trail entryways. A great loop to try is their Savanna Loop that usually has fewer people on it, giving your furry friend minimal distractions.<\/p>\n You’ll find this “back to basics” park charming with its minimalistic style only 10 minutes from downtown Boerne located at Kreutzberg Canyon Natural Area<\/a> isn’t like most modern parks, but that’s what makes it so charming to it’s most frequent visitors. Running about 1,700 feet along the riverside, your furry friend is more than welcome to take a dip in the Guadalupe River to cool off. Since the park is more remote than others your dog will be able to enjoy the fresh smell of nature, picking up on the Jackrabbits, wild hogs, and abundance of deer roaming the grounds. Along with its simplistic theme, this park doesn’t offer water fountains so you’ll want to be sure to pack plenty of your own to keep you and Fido hydrated. Another interesting quirk about this park is that it doesn’t offer trail names or color markers, it simply has different arrows you can choose from along the way, similar to a choose your own adventure story line.<\/p>\n You can find the first natural area that was located on the south side of San Antonia at At the Medina River Natural Area<\/a>, you’ll discover the river flowing right through its great wilderness. This park offers paved and natural paths so you’ll have options on what you prefer for you and Fido.
