It is our distinct pleasure to get to know these animals and their loved ones, we love nothing more than seeing them succeed. Through consistency and a proven dog training method, we help our clients raise happy, confident and obedient dogs.

In today’s post we are excited to feature a very special dog. Meet Paxton! During his time as one of our board and train pups, Paxton has made great strides. When he first arrived, Paxton struggled to remain focused during his training sessions. Today he is mastering many of his fundamental skills. Let’s take a closer look at his progress.

Day 1

On his first day in our Board and Train program, Paxton did well at many of his commands but really struggled to slow down and focus. The lay down command was the most difficult for him while the come and sit commands came a bit more naturally. It was a strong first day and our trainers knew right away that, given some more practice, he would be a great student.

Day 7

Day seven was a big turning point for Paxton. He scored very high on holding place and did very well with overall obedience. His trainer noted that he was doing well on a wide range of skills, from low level to high with some inconsistency. All of this progress is a great reflection of his overall improvement.

Day 10

By day 10 Paxton’s trainer was very pleased with his mastery of skills. He made strides across the board, from walking to thresholds and overall obedience. From time to time Paxton would react to distraction without even thinking about it. A very common struggle for dogs as they begin to work on obedience skills, Paxton’s momentary lapses in focus are something his trainers continue to work on today.

Next Steps

Moving forward Paxton will be working on training in uncontrolled environments such as group dog training classes, walks and the dog park. This progression in his Denver dog training program will give Paxton the impulse control he needs to enable his family to take him virtually anywhere.
