Mariana is one of our trainers. Mariana grew up working with horses in New York City and across the tristate area. She relocated to Syracuse to pursue a degree in Business Management from Cazenovia College and decided to stay. Mariana transitioned professionally from horses to dog training after adopting Freya, a highly reactive black lab mix from Alabama.

Mariana’s experience with her own “problem dog” is the driving force behind her commitment to improving the relationships of clients with their dogs. In just a short time, Mariana transformed Freya from a formerly stray neighborhood nuisance to a focused dog with off-leash reliability and even a couple AKC Trick Dog titles. Originally self taught, she chose to further her training career under the Sit Means Sit Syracuse team after seeing how effectively it gave clients the ability to truly enjoy their dogs again. She hasn’t looked back since, and loves every moment she gets problem solving with dogs of all kinds.
