AKC Canine Good Citizen Class Requirements

For your dog to enroll in the AKC Canine Good Citizen class, there are a few requirements they must meet.

First, your dog must be at least 6 months of age to start, with no upper age limit. No dog is too old to become AKC Canine Good Citizen certified!

We also require your dog to have no history of dog aggression and no bite history. If your dog does, check out our board and train programs in Raleigh and the surrounding areas as another option.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate Test

Once you and your dog have mastered the 10 test skills, you’re ready to take the Canine Good Citizen test. Once you pass your CGX test, you’ll send in the paperwork provided by our expert dog trainers to the AKC for your official title and certification.

Testimonials

“I was really happy with the service and even though it will take me longer to break some old habits and teach new habits I feel more equipped to do so. I have given five stars because I think any dog owner who feels they need guidance in training their dog should consider Sit Means Sit Dog Training.”
