Our private lesson program is designed with your life in mind! With once-a-week lessons at our facility, you will be able to be hands-on with your dog while learning in real time with your trainer guiding you every step of the way. Training is a dynamic process, so in addition to your 4-6 private lessons, your program will include group classes to help your dog with their social skills, impulse control, and grasp of their training goals around lots of distractions. Everything from training equipment to lifetime follow-up will be included with your private lesson program to ensure that you have the support you need through the life of your dog. We offer daytime, evening, and weekend lessons to make sure that your program fits you.

Private Lessons

What’s Included in a Private Training?

Our private training programs are designed to help you train your pet in private and during a time that fits your schedule. Our private lesson programs are designed for the family or individual who wants to be directly involved and personally responsible for the success of the dog’s training. With this option, you meet with your trainer for an hour-long one-on-one session each week.

These sessions are held at our facility where we can recreate real-world scenarios that you would experience in a variety of locations such as your home, a park, and almost any location where you want help with your dog’s behavior.

Our base curriculum covers what we consider the 7 Basic Commands – sit, down, heel, leave it, come, place, and quiet; which from there can be elevated and used to reach a myriad of training goals in many different environments. Your program will be customized to you so that we are working with your goals in mind through every step of your private lesson program.

Who Qualifies For Our Private Training Programs?

Contrary to popular belief, you can teach old dogs new tricks! Our private lessons are open to dogs as young as 8 weeks old all the way up through 12-13 years and beyond. We ask that all dogs be vaccinated for DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies prior to starting their training journey.

What Is the Importance of Training?

Dogs are most receptive to learning new skills when they are younger, especially when they are puppies. Our trainers at Sit Means Sit Buffalo are willing and dedicated to helping you train your dog through a variety of exercises. If a dog goes untrained, it can potentially develop unwanted habits or aggressiveness that can make it harder to control them in the future. Sometimes the negative behaviors can lead to disagreeable behavior with the owners themselves.

Private Lessons are as much about you learning how to work with your dog as they are about your dog learning to work with you. We want families to have the opportunity to be a hands-on partner in the process so that we can help translate lessons to the home environment and beyond. The most important thing about training is the connection that it can build between you and your furry friend, and we build a lifetime commitment into our programs to help you maintain that.
