Whether it is a scared German Shepherd or a barking Chihuahua, we can handle any behavioral challenge!

Experienced Dog Trainers

The aggressive dog training services at Sit Means Sit focus on mental stimulation, obedience, and behavior modification to give you control and the confidence your pup needs. Our boot camps work on many issues, including:

  • Stop barking
  • Behavior or fear issues
  • Running out the door
  • Lunging at other dogs in public settings
  • Poor socialization
  • Fighting off bad habits like aggression, jumping, and barking
  • Separation anxiety
  • Leash skills

Using positive reinforcement dog training, plus the dog’s favorite essential cookies and treats, we make our training tools accessible to dog owners. This way they can continue to practice their new skills successfully at home, on walks, around other dogs, and with friends. Sign up for classes today!

Example Dog Training Program for Aggressive Dogs

Whether your dog is aggressive, fearful, or has separation anxiety, we focus on the individual dog’s behavior, customizing the training plan and classes. While many dogs might need a couple of weeks, the five-day training plan is a great starting place. Your puppy or dog will work closely with an amazing dog trainer, building a close relationship and getting them ready to handle real-life situations.

Phase 1

Often the first day is the hardest for your dog. Our awesome trainers are very patient and will take a moment to work through any separation anxiety; taking breaks during the sessions when needed. This new environment and person can be stressful and requires patience!

As the dog training program progresses, we start teaching positive reinforcement, behavior modification, and obedience. Our quality training tools help prepare these reactive dogs for the real world!

Phase 2

Once your dog is comfortable with their dog trainer, we will begin to assess their behavior and decide if they need a muzzle. This protects the dog trainer but also creates a safer experience for the reactive dog.

Once the dog is comfortable with their trainer and muzzle, we begin basic commands such as “heel,” “stay,” and “sit” and not letting them pull the leash. Let us know if there is anything fun you want your pup to learn!

Phase 3

On the third day, we work to enhance your dog’s off-leash skills and maybe go on a ride to dog-friendly public sites. We want them to practice their attention and new good behaviors in a new environment, even with everybody and other dogs going by. The goal is for their owners to be able to take them on walks with complete control!

Phase 4

We continue with hard distractions like seeing other dogs and or your trainer talk to a new person while your dog has a safer experience with their muzzle. The intended goal is to keep their attentions and be calm around all the new stimulation.

Phase 5

The last part of these training sessions features perfecting their new obedience and basic commands. We want to fade out training tools so the owners can be confident and in control when handling their dogs. Take them for walks, care rides, or over to friends’ houses, and know they will be well-behaved and calm!
