Makapu’u Point Lighthouse Trail
This trail is easy to moderate in difficulty and is excellent for hiking, sightseeing, and wildlife viewing. Additionally, the trail offers outstanding views of the Southeastern coastline. This includes Koko, Koko Crater, offshore islets, and the historic Makapu’u Lighthouse, among other beautiful sights. Lastly, your furry friend is welcome to come along on your adventure if they are on a leash!
Waimano Trail
This scenic trail is excellent for year-round walking, hiking, running, and wildlife. The Waimano Trail is also an easy route, roughly 2.5 miles long. The lower and upper trails are relatively flat but can get muddy, so be mindful if you bring your four-legged friend.
‘Aiea Loop Trail
This trail is moderate in difficulty and is about 4.8 miles long. Additionally, the route runs along the ridge of the west side of Halawa Valley and provides views of the beautiful southern coastline. Though the hike is not strenuous, there are gradual uphill climbs and stream crossings to be mindful of. Lastly, feel free to bring your leashed companion along on your journey!
Judd Trail
The Judd trail is also an easy-to-moderate hike and is a 1-mile loop. Additionally, this trail is open year-round and is excellent for walking and hiking. Also, the course offers beautiful scenic views of wildlife, the forest, rivers, and waterfalls. Like our other selections, your dog must be on a leash if they visit the trail with you!
Kaiwa Ridge Trail
This trail is a more advanced route because of the steep sections and the rocky terrain. However, it is one of the most picturesque trails on Oahu! The trail offers beautiful views of Lanikai Beach, Kailua Beach, and the Mokulua Islands. Remember to bring your furry friend on a leash on this beautiful hike!
‘Aiea Ridge Trail
The ‘Aiea Ridge Trail is great for hiking and beautiful views of the forests, wildflowers, and wildlife. This advanced route is 10 miles long and takes roughly 5 hours to complete the whole trail length. Your canine will love the challenge and the time in the great outdoors!
