Dog Training Experts In Brooklyn Park

Sit Means Sit Dog Training offers private dog training, advanced obedience, and puppy training in Brooklyn Park and surrounding Twin Cities areas.

Our goal at Sit Means Sit is to help our clients use proper training to build an obedience foundation for a happy, well-behaved, and confident dog. Our team focuses on off-leash training for pet dogs plus challenging issues like separation anxiety and aggressive behavior. Age, dog breeds, and personality all make a difference in our training tools, so we tailor a program based on your individual dog training needs.

Our training classes look a bit different than other dog training programs. We go beyond basic obedience and prepare your dog with advanced skills. Your new puppy or dog will become the perfect family member you trust to go on any adventure!

By starting with basic obedience and building a foundation in skills like loose leash walking and not jumping, your dog learns to be secure in their behavior and relationship with you. If you have been disappointed with other training classes, you don’t have to rehome your pet. Instead, it is time to contact us! With years of experience, our professional dog trainers are the most qualified and knowledgeable enough to handle even the most extreme behavior cases.

Our goal is to make a training plan that matches your training needs. This includes not only training your dog but also helping owners learn how to properly reinforce their dog’s good behavior so you both have trust and confidence in each other.

Once your dog has graduated from their private training classes, they can join us in Group Classes to polish up obedience skills while learning to obey around distractions like other dogs. Please check out our various private dog training packages and other training options. For more information and to schedule your Free Dog Training Consultation contact us today!

Day Train

Day Training offers a tailored dog training package that works around any family’s schedule. Like Board and Train, you start seeing results almost immediately, but you get to have your pup home with you every night. Drop off your pup in the morning for a full day of immersive training. One of our professional dog trainers lays down a foundation of basic obedience, as well as prepares them for real-world scenarios with advanced training and socialization.

At pick up we offer you the chance to join a group class to see what commands your dog has learned and how to practice reinforcing their new behaviors at home.

Benefits of Day Training with a Dog Trainer

  • Your pooch receives a customized proper training experience without having to stay at a boarding program
  • Perfect for a family or professional with hectic schedules looking for advanced training classes
  • Graduates of our Day Train program get access to Group Classes

Private Lessons

Private Lessons is the perfect program for pet parents who want to be responsible for their dog’s training success. Work with a professional dog trainer who creates a training plan based on your dog’s individual needs and behavior. This program is great for puppies or adult dogs who need behavioral help from poor leash manners, troublesome barking, potty training, reactivity, and more!

Because they are not fully vaccinated yet, young puppies cannot start our Day Train Program. Instead, we encourage new puppy owners to prepare their puppies for Day Train with Private Lessons. This is the perfect opportunity to build a foundation based on basic obedience and positive reinforcement to help you navigate pesky puppy training issues like potty training and chewing!

One-on-one lessons will prepare you and your pup to learn the correct behaviors right away so they are perfectly obedient and listen for their whole life. After training sessions at Sit Means Sit, you will find yourself with a pup who can do everything, from the dog park to pet-friendly patios, to solid off-leash hiking!

Why choose Private Lessons?

  • You get to be directly involved in your dog training journey
  • Private Lessons are planned around your schedule
  • Our trainers cater to your dog’s personal training needs

Since Sit Means Sit opened its doors in 2008, I’ve been a part of the team. A profound love for canines has always been in my heart, and witnessing the remarkable transformations facilitated by Sit Means Sit solidified my desire to contribute. At home, I share my life with two remarkable companions: Bella, a Doberman, and Rufus, an American pitbull.

As your initial point of contact when reaching out to Sit Means Sit, I’m proud to hold certification as an AKC evaluator. My primary objective is to equip both you and your furry friend with the guidance and assurance necessary for a fulfilling life together!

Marley learns so much here. Every time I have a question or new thing that I would like him to learn all the staff is right there with all the information that you would need. From basic obedience to walking on a treadmill. Recommend them to anyone that is looking to get a new dog…

I adopted my foster and she was pretty dog reactive. I found sit means sit and Pat and Ryan did an amazing job with Mella and I had my hesitations but I can say after 3 months of group class I can now walk Mella past other dogs barking and all she does is cry…

We’ve seen such a change in our rescue dog since we first came to Sit Means Sit in Spring Lake Park. He used to be skittish and scared of strange things (like wood floors and water bowls). We just took him on a big adventure out west for the second year in a row, and…
