As Seen Training On
Clients and pups who have successfully finished their puppy training, Board and Train programs, or private lessons are invited to the next step of Sit Means Sit dog training, Group Classes!
Many other businesses offer dog training classes that will get you through potty training, basic obedience, or private training. Still, when it ends, it is up to the owners to troubleshoot any future behavioral challenges. But our professional dog trainers are committed to being there for you and your best friend beyond simple beginner learning, leash control, and basic commands!
That is why our expert trainers have curated a new training program where you and your pup can continue to strengthen a bond based on basic obedience and confidence. Well-behaved dogs ready to further their training education can join a group of other dogs and their owners in group classes. Here, they can refine their obedience training while learning more advanced skills. Out of the multiple dog training programs we offer, many of our clients say that group class is one of their favorites since it offers support from our professional trainers, plus a new community.
Why This is Different Than Other Training Programs
We are proud that at Sit Means Sit we offer a hands-on environment where dogs can retain and generalize their obedience skills and basic commands. It is important that a training program allows the introduction of distractions so that your dog can handle any real-life situation as well as have perfect manners and off-leash control.
It is great if your dog has wonderful behavior in your own home, but that doesn’t help if they have behavioral issues like excessive barking outside! Dog owners need to train their dogs to work through these kinds of distractions, and our professional trainers are ready to offer this training experience that will prepare your pup for the real world! Our training services will build a foundation built on trust and communication so that they can succeed.
Group classes, like all of our training services, give dog owners a fun and exciting opportunity to train their dogs in safe environments. We create scenarios with new critters, other dogs, and strangers so your dog is conditioned to distractions and can bring those skills out into the real world. For example, we might take classes out to a favorite central Florida dog-friendly park, allowing pet owners to fine-tune their dogs’ obedience training in a busy place. When you are out on your own, you can trust your pup to have perfect off-leash control based a a great foundation.
The goal is to create safe conditions that foster intuitive training and socialization. Armed with the assistance of our knowledgeable dog trainers, pet owners can take control of their dog’s training program. In group classes, our clients learn how to form a solid and lasting relationship with their canine companions based on communication, trust, and confidence. It is not uncommon for students to notice a difference after only one or two weeks of training classes!
Some of the exercises we do in group classes are learning more advanced obedience training and learning fun tricks! This provides an opportunity for you and your dog to learn more about each other and understand how to communicate better. It is a great way to provide mental stimulation while building on the basic cues your pup has already mastered and strengthening off-leash habits.
Besides learning new skills, the group setting is a great place to revisit or refine manners. For example, if your dog is barking again, enroll in group classes so we can quickly nip that bad habit in the bud. Under the supervision of our patient dog trainers (plus their favorite treats!), your dog will be the most well-behaved neighborhood pup in no time!
New To Sit Means Sit
The Sit Means Sit group training program is only available to clients who have graduated from our other training classes. This allows us to provide a safe environment where we know how to help each individual dog and their owner grow as a team, without the distractions of challenging behavioral issues. You are not just growing as a partnership with your furry friend, but learning from the whole group. We like to think of group training as a community, and many clients share that it was the best part of training!
Every dog is welcome in the Sit Means Sit training family. This includes your new shelter dog, a purebred Labrador puppy, or the stray you found in a downtown alley. Our expert trainers can handle behavioral issues ranging from leash-pulling, excessive barking, separation anxiety, or even aggression. No matter the breed, age, size, or background of your dog, we can help!
Many of our professional dog trainers have their Canine Good Citizen evaluator certification through the American Kennel Club. Getting your dog evaluated for the CGC is a great first step for pet owners interested in moving on to more advanced obedience training, or therapy dog or service dog training.
