Why Your Dog Loves Fall

Fall is finally here and it is a favorite season among many people. And our companions are no different! Though there are many things to love about summer from sunny days to running through the sprinkler, fall is fun for dogs too!

Cooler Temperature

Because dogs do not sweat in the same way people do, it is much harder for them to regulate their body temperature. So, summer temperatures make it harder for our companions to cool off. However, the cooler fall temperatures make regulating body temperature much easier. So, your pooch is much more comfortable in the fall!

Allergies and Insects

Falling temperatures mean fewer blooming trees, seeding grass, and pollinating plants. And, just like us, our four-legged friends can have allergies too. So, cooler temperatures mean fewer allergens. This means both you and your pal have less eye irritation and runny noses!

Additionally, lower temperatures mean fewer annoying insects. This includes mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, ants, spiders, and other stinging and biting insects. However, you should continue flea, tick, and heartworm medication during the fall and winter! Though the number of insects decreases, the threat is not entirely gone!

Car Rides and Longer Walks

Hanging your head out the window is much more enjoyable with a cool fall breeze on your face. Also, cooler temperatures mean longer walks. This is because many parts of the country experience very hot summers where the air and pavement are very hot. this causes you and your pal to not be able to enjoy the outdoors for too long.

Additionally, camping trips and visiting the beach are much more enjoyable in the fall. The crisp air, relaxing nights, and cool and are a favorite of fall.

Seasonal Fun

So many more amazing experiences are exclusive to the fall season. For example, delicious baking smells, pumpkin treats, and fun pumpkin patch trips. Additionally, your pooch probably loves attention and dressing up for costume contests and photo feeds that love.

There is so much to love about fall. It is a great time to spend some time together in the crisp fall air and eat pumpkin treats!
