Let us find the training program for your dog, based on your needs

The fist step is to call us to schedule your consultation. Our team will get to know you and your dog to identify which of the following training program approaches will best fit your needs.

Day Training

Your dog will stay with us for the day for “school” and you will receive a coaching lesson at the end of the day.  This approach is the best fit for most people. It’s deal for busy families or individuals who want some help to lay the foundation, but still want to be involved with every step of the process – who also want their dog to be home at night.

Your dog comes to school one day per week for multiple weeks, depending on your needs. We follow-up with private lessons to help you fine-tune things. We have found this to be the most balanced and flexible approach for people over the years. Take a peek at some of what we do.

Jump Starts

Ideal for busy families or individuals who do not have time to lay the foundation for training. Many people take advantage of our Jump Starts when they go on vacation. These stay-for-training programs are also appropriate for dogs with too much energy for you as the owner, aggression towards people or dogs, fear or separation issues and dog’s who can’t pay attention around distractions, etc. Your dog will stay Monday – Friday for training and you will get daily updates and a coaching lesson on Friday when you pick your dog up from the week.

The number of weeks of training will depend on your unique situation. These are the highest investment programs financially, but you will see results quickly.

Private Lessons

Occasionally a few private lessons will be enough to get control of some basics.  This option can be great for individuals or families who have only a few simple training goals and lots of time to spend with their dog. These allow us to coach you through specific situations, but require you to maintain all of the training. We have some private lesson plans available, and your trainer will determine if this is the best solution for you at the consultation.

We don’t usually recommend starting with private lessons – that would be like you trying to teach us your entire job in one hour – and hoping we can do it as well as you. But these are great add-ons for families who have dogs who have completed a Day Training or Jump Start program.

Puppy Classes

Exposure to new sights, sounds, smells, people and other puppies is a critical step in development and foundational training. The critical socialization period for puppies is between 8 – 16 weeks and we have a class just for the babies. Puppies must be five months or younger to join our class. We go over basic commands, have lots of fun and let them play in each class. Click here to see availability.

Bailey graduated puppy class at the end of 2022 and came back for Day Training, 2023

Regardless of which program is best for you, we tailor training sessions to address your needs. New commands and training situations are added each lesson to address the most important goals as we progress through training. We teach you how to practice and maintain training in a way that fits your schedule.

Have more than one dog that needs to be trained? Awesome!

It’s not unusual these days to have multiple dogs in one home. Owners often want to “fix” the “difficult” dog – but if you only invest in half of the team, you’re limiting your results. Consistency in expectations of all the dogs in the family is very important – and we will encourage you to consider training for everyone – you’ll be thankful you did!
