Dog Friendly Things To Do In ABQ

Albuquerque is the perfect place to explore nature, culture, and history with your canine companion. The city is full of life and waiting for adventure. So strap up your pooch and get out to enjoy all the dog-friendly activities ABQ has to offer!

Old Town Albuquerque

ABQ is full of history, and Historic Old Town has been standing since 1706. Old Town contains Albuquerque’s cultural center, museums, and 100+ shopping experiences, restaurants, and galleries. You and your dog can explore the cultural enrichment of Old Town together, but make sure your dog stays on a leash!

Many shops around the plaza will encourage you to browse with your pup by your side. You and your dog may also enjoy sightseeing in the city with the 90-minute tour from the open-air ABQ trolley!

Paseo del Bosque Trail

This 16-mile long paved trail is great for dogs who can’t quite make a rougher hike, but still want to be in the fresh outdoors. You’ll also come across public art displays on your walk or run, which will make a great photo opp for your dog!

Tingley Beach

Wanting to cool off by a body of water? Tingley Beach is the perfect place as it’s right along the Rio Grande and the park is easily accessible! There are even free fishing ponds open to the public as long as you have your fishing license.

Dog Parks

ABQ has over a dozen of dog parks that you and your four-legged friend can visit. Dogs can even run around without a leash in the designated areas and interact with other playful pups! Be sure to bring a toy with you to fetch for hours, because your dog is not going to want to leave.

Backstreet Grill

Enjoy some Southwest Baja eating on the patio with your pooch by your side! Soak up the sunset on a night out with your dog while sipping on a local craft beer at the Backstreet Grill.

The Flying Star Cafe

Come eat a delicious meal with your dog at The Flying Star Cafe. From breakfast served all day, to seasonal specials like the Spicy Beef Bánh Mì, you will enjoy every second of your time here. You can even ‘hitch’ your pup at their “canine hitches” on the patio!

The Grove Cafe & Market

Sit at one of the outdoor tables while devouring a local and organic meal with your pup. The Grove Cafe & Market is the perfect place to grab a fresh and tasty brunch (and mimosa of course)!
