Testimonials

We wanted our dogs to be trained off leash, listen and obey to commands without hesitation, for their safety and our piece of mind. That is what we got at Sit Means Sit. Their proven methods started showing on day 1. Great results and happy dogs! If you’re on the fence about it just do it. Your dogs will thank you for it.

From the first phone call with Sit Means Sit Anthem I knew I was making the right choice for my dog, Peanut. The communication every step of the way was absolutely fantastic. I knew exactly what the process and program would be and how I could contribute to make this the best possible experience. All of my questions were addressed before the first day of training. My dog Peanut is almost 2 and this training was SUCH a huge help for her! Both the trainers and I agree that she acts like a completely different dog since graduating. Her behavior is under control and she is actually listening to and following commands and instructions. Not only has this training helped her but it has also helped me feel more confident and comfortable taking Peanut to the park and on walks where we encounter new people and new dogs. Peanut loved going to training each week. All of the trainers are great and helped Peanut become the best dog she can be. I loved receiving progress pictures and videos of her while she was at training. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit Anthem!

This was the best experience for our boys and us! Tammi and Richard, with their staff, provided our dogs with the attention and training needed to ensure they’re both in our home and in public. The trainings were very purposeful for the dogs and the follow up with us at pickup was clear and concise. When asking questions, Tammi and Katelyn were patient and provided great next steps to practice with our boys at home. They’ve taken well to the training and enjoy practicing at home. We’ll recommend Sit Means Sit Anthem to everyone looking to train their pup!

S.M.S. Anthem, took the time to know my dog… and tailored a training plan that help him and my children to identify bad habits. Then to correct his and my kids problems. I can with 100 confidence allow my dog off lease and he will listen to commands from all eight family members. I love my dog even more as we both have a mutual respect and understanding. I owe him as much as he owe me…. thank you

Tammi, Richard and their staff are always friendly, helpful and very professional. They did an excellent job with my Maxie who needed help with leash aggression towards other dogs; heel; outdoor manners and running out the front door when company came over. During his 4 week training course, they did a great job with Maxie. They are always willing to help and answer any questions. The one-on-one training that Maxie and I received was more than I expected and very helpful. I am one happy Rottweiler mom because I am able to walk my dog outside again without worry and he behaves at the front door now. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit. Thank you very much!

I just want to start off and say that Tammi and Richard are amazing at what they do. Happy that we were recommended to them for assistance with our rambunctious puppy. Along with the noticeably immediate disciplinary skills he developed, our puppy also learned countless commands and skills. We were nervous about keeping his progression and learning going once training ends, but Tammi and Richard provide you with homework and extensive learning material to continue training your dog at home. Each training session we picked up our puppy from, they’ll have a one on one with you about the days lesson and what you’re too continue practicing at home. Then Tammi will take  you out and show you what they’ve worked on all day, then she lets you take the reins and practice. What made us appreciate them so much was the fact that they weren’t just trying to get us out and the next dog in, She takes the time, patience and effort each session to show the owner how to properly execute each command, they will not let you leave till everyone is comfortable with the new lessons. 10/10 would recommend. Love, A happy family.

We had two dogs we worked with at the same time with two very different personalities. Richard got to know both our dogs and his training has helped our dogs become better behaved members of our family. It sets them up for success. We look forward to continuing our training in the groups! Thank you for all your help!

Rosie just finished her one-on-one classes portion of the training with Tammi. She is already a very different dog – she definitely listens now, she knows the basics, and she is actually much more lovable! We will now start to attend the group classes to see how she does there. We are so glad we did this.

Although our dog is mostly sweet, she had some very bad habits. She is a rescued guard dog and is very protective, sometimes to the point of aggression toward our son and violence toward other animals. We contacted Sit Means Sit for a consultation. We discussed her issues and she demonstrated some of this behavior while in consultation. After one day at the facility, she was a different dog. An hour after she arrived for her second session, the staff contacted me asking if she WAS the same dog! She’s so calm and well behaved now. We’re blessed that she WANTS to please and behave, but the staff was so loving and caring toward her that she didn’t feel punished to do so. They’ve given us specific instructions catered to her- they noticed special things about her that helped us all work together to be a happy family. While the price was a little spendy, it was SO worth it to have this wonderful, well behaved, love in our lives and to have the peace of mind that she was being loved while she was being trained. We’d go back again and again!

My ridgeback is extremely smart and stubborn.  After several classes I can control her, but group classes help to remind her how to behave.

I am in awe at the level of excellence that Sit Means Sit Anthem Dog Training promotes and provides. I’ve been a dog mom for over 20 years and joined and bought every type of dog training out there, but nothing ever seemed to stick for me in my past. When I got my Golden Doodle, I knew I couldn’t waste such an intelligent and talented dog on my lack of training abilities and consistency. I interviewed several training companies, but my head and heart were 100% confident and comfortable with SMS’s training methods, pricing and timelines. I loved the all-day school drop-off training idea. Genius, in fact! Within the first day, my dog was a completely different dog. It looked as if she immediately belonged in a dog show. It was beautiful. By graduation, you could see how happy she was to be pleasing us and getting so much praise in return. The training does stick with the dog, it’s so easy to stay consistent with for us, as humans, and our babies actually enjoy learning and obeying and being rewarded with high praise. I couldn’t be happier with the results and the new friends I’ve made along the way, in the trainers. They are worth every penny and then some, and the fact that I have access to them for my fur-baby’s lifetime, should anything arise that they can assist with, brings me so much peace and trust in them and their work. You don’t find that anymore. A lifetime of gratitude – Thank You Tammi & Richard!

I cannot speak highly enough of Richard and Tammi, owners of Sit Means Sit.  This business was recommended to me by my vet, Dr. Phil Wesen. I was impressed from my initial contact via their website. I received a call from Tammi almost immediately.  She scheduled our obligation-free consultation in our home, and within a couple of days Richard was evaluating Zoey and making recommendations for her training program.

Zoey is a rescue Lhasa Apso. She has gone through unknown trauma in her short life, leaving her with acute fear aggression.  She is somewhat aggressive towards people, but her aggression towards other dogs is severe.

Richard has shown tremendous patience with Zoey during the four training sessions we have had so far. He is firm but gentle, and most importantly he is consistent.  Zoey was a little aggressive towards him at first, but now she demonstrates total trust in him — even when training with his 90 lb Labradoodle. Although Zoey is fearful of this large dog, we have been successful in walking them together and having them in the same room without Zoey trying to engage in confrontation.

We still have work to do with Zoey, but we have met our short-term goal of her being able to coexist with a Golden Retriever while we are house sitting. Our ultimate goal is to be able to walk Zoey without fear of confrontation when we encounter other dogs. I believe that we can accomplish this goal with Richard’s help.

I am very grateful for the genuine care that both Richard and Tammi have shown. We were not entirely satisfied with the first collar that Richard brought for Zoey.  He listened to our needs and offered to design a collar similar to the one Zoey was already comfortable with. He took back the collar he had given us, and five hours later Tammi was at our house with the new collar. She didn’t leave until she was certain the collar was the correct fit for Zoey.

Tammi has been flexible in changing our appointments so that both of us can be there for all of Zoey’s training. Richard has never looked at the time to determine the end of a training session – as long as Zoey is learning without being too tired or stressed, Richard continues to work with her. He offered continued phone support during our house sitting stay, and asked that we keep him informed of Zoey’s progress.

I look forward to continuing to work with Richard and Tammi. The knowledge that we have them as a resource for Zoey’s lifetime is both comforting and reassuring. We know that Zoey’s behavior is challenging but we also know we have the best support we could ask for.

Beautiful Zoey

My dog used to be so crazy and would never listen to me. It was irritating. Now I love my dog more than ever before. I never knew a dog could go from crazy to well behaved and attentive.

Rich and Tammi were so knowledgeable in training my dog. What I thought was the right way to train my dog was only the tip of the iceberg compared to the knowledge I was given to straighten out my fur baby and put him on the right path to being a SUPER dog!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys are great and so patient. I was probably more difficult than dog, haha. I will definitely be bringing my future dogs to you so I can start their training earlier.

You guys are the best! This was the best decision I ever made for my dog.

Best decision I ever made.

“When I First Adopted Beau, I Was Informed That He Was Trained By The Pups On Parole Program From Heaven Can Wait. He Was Pretty Good (Inside The House).  One Day We Opened The Garage And Out He Went.
We Were Frantic As He Ran Near Anthem Parkway.  Within One Hour Of Getting Him Back Inside, I Looked Up Sit Means Sit For Training.

Because Of His Personal In Home Training With Beau And Months Of Joint Training With Several Other Dogs, Beau Has Become The Doggy Mayor Of Our Anthem Neighborhood.   Everyone Stops Me And Tells Me How Well Trained He Is.
Now, I Have To Admit That Initially I Was Put Off By The Electronic Collar Method That Sit Means Sit Uses, But When I Learned That Used In A Positive Manner, I Found It Is An Incredible Tool For Learning And Safety. When I Take Out The Collar He Runs To Me Doing A Doggy Dance Showing His Neck For Me To Put It On. Me And Beau Walk In Our Neighborhood Several Times A Day.  There Isn’t A Person Within A Mile Radius That Does Not Know Beau.   He Is Adored By Me,  My Wife And Everyone Who Meets Him. I Never Take The Credit For His Behavior And I Always Tell People It Was Sit Means Sit That Made A Somewhat Trained Dog Into A Rock Star.”

Sit Means Sit Anthem has been amazing, tailoring training for each team and testing both dog and owner.  I feel like it is more about training me than training the dog.  They both have a great understanding of what our dogs need as well as the grace to deal with all the personalities of their clients.  They keep us all informed of training schedule changes as well as events going on locally for both us and our dogs to enjoy.  Their head trainer is more of a hands on trainer, always available to answer questions and give advise regarding techniques.  Overall a great team!

Last summer (2014) I hit a plateau with training Ritter, he was beginning to be a little dog aggressive and I didn’t have the right skill set to remedy this at the time. I looked into dog trainers online and came acros Sit Means Sit Anthem Dog Training. The skills I’ve learned from him have completely changed the game for me and Ritter is blossoming into a very cool dog to own and handle. Every time I take him out now I get compliments from complete strangers on what a lovely and well-mannered dog he is. With our trainers help we discovered Ritter is not truly “dog aggressive” just “reactive/sensitive” to high energy dogs that aren’t under anyone’s control. We have worked on that through the group training classes and he has completely turned around. I can handle him confidently around other dogs on or off a leash and he’s becoming more well-mannered and tolerant of other dogs. I am so proud of the things I’ve been able to accomplish and I always have a positive experience in the group training classes. I look forward to attending them any chance I get in my hectic schedule. I am so profoundly grateful that I found Sit Means Sit Anthem, they have given me new confidence in safely and effectively handling any dog and have given me the tools I need to move forward getting the results I seek. Thanks for all the help and effort guys!
