Ernie has been a great help in working with my chihuahua, Poncho. It was amazing to come home from work and learn what I needed to do with Poncho during our initial four weeks of training. I couldn’t stop smiling even after the first training session – Poncho was zoned in on me and walking him had never been such a pleasure. Several months have passed since that initial training and Ernie continues to be a great resource. Would recommend him to anyone looking for help with their doggo’s training.

Ernie the owner and trainer of Sit Means Sit is wonderful. He is patient and kind not only to the dog he is working with but to the owners. Training us is harder than our pet!! Our German Short Hair Pointer puppy was a handful but after the 4-full day private lessons (1 per week) and us doing our “homework” she is much easier to control at home. Now we are working on the “Lifetime” group lessons Ernie offers. Learning to socialize with other dogs and to control her when distractions are around is an ongoing work in progress. We are sure that with Ernie’s continued expert dog training and help with Belle’s humans, She will be a well behaved family member!

My husband and I were walking our new puppy in the park at Lake Louise near Weaverville and saw a group of 4 dogs and their owners in what appeared to be a training class. Observing the dynamics of the group as we got closer, it was obvious the gentleman leading the class was quite good so we asked for information and that’s how we met Ernie from Sit Means Sit and discovered he offers one-on-one training courses.

After we spoke on the phone, he came out to our house for a free consult with us and our dog. She already had some training, but we were struggling a bit with leash walking, consistently getting her to come, jumping up on us, etc. Ernie assured us he could train our puppy in a kind and focused manner, and boy did he succeed!!! Ernie picked her up and spent 8 hours at the park/training facility with her once a week for 4 weeks. At the end of every daylong session, he would bring her back to our house and then work with us and our dog for an additional hour. He even provided photos and videos of her learning her commands…the difference has been amazing! Such a good teacher and such a worthwhile investment for us.

As much as we enjoyed our puppy before Sit Means Sit, she is even easier to love and play with now. Best of all, once a dog has completed training, Ernie offers free weekly group training classes for life (which is the class we stumbled upon during our walk). Just a terrific experience and highly recommend it.

Ernie did a great job with training Tiger. She is a 6 year old rescue and needed help with her manners. She’s learned to heel on walks, not react to other dogs, going to her bed on command and being more patient. I would definitely recommend Sit-means-sit for all your puppy training needs.

Ernie came out from Sit Means Sit Dog Training to work with my 5 mo. old puppy for the first time today and I have never seen such a remarkable trainer. Within the first 20 to 30 minutes he had her trusting him. He had her sit, come, stay, and get on her bed never taking her eyes off him. Most amazing thing I have ever seen; all with a very calm loving voice. Never jerking her around or raising his voice. Most of this was done without a leash!!! I am 72 yrs old and have had dogs all my life, so I have seen a few trainers and I could not ever recommend one that is this loving, gentle and truly a Dog Whisper.

Ernie is absolutely amazing and such a blessing to our pups. He really has such a talent and after failed attempts with other trainers, our 2 dogs made huge improvements. We would recommend sit means sit to anyone. Not only is the training incredible, Ernie loves on them constantly so there’s no doubt they are in the best hands. He’s always there to help without hesitation.

Ernie at Sit Means Sit has done a wonderful job training our pup, Ranger, and helping to guide us along the way. Ranger is my third german shepherd and we decided we needed a little extra help with training now that we have a 1 year old baby at home. I am extremely impressed with what Ernie has done to help our dog become more attentive, more confident, and learn the foundations of becoming a calm, confident dog at home and in public. We learned a lot of valuable knowledge from Ernie during the time we worked together. Since day one, he brought an awesome energy into the space and Ranger is thrilled everytime he sees Ernie. Ernie sent us pictures and videos of our dog’s progress on training days, was excellent at answering any questions we had, and helped us problem-solve as we went along. Ernie was also great at communication, he was timely in responding to questions and made everything clear and easy for us. He was flexible with our schedule in working out times for training days which we greatly appreciated. We went to our first group class this past weekend and are very excited to continue working with Ernie and practicing training with our pup. I wholeheartedly recommend hiring Ernie to fellow dog owners!

Sit Means Sit has brought peace to our home and peace to our dogs. We’ve got 2 rescues, one pitty and one boxer pitty mix. It was very stressful taking them for walks or having company over. They would literally lose their minds and go crazy. I had watched Earnie (the Trainer) work with other dogs of all ages and breeds in amazement but kept thinking to myself… there is no way my dogs could ever behave so calmly. I decided what can it hurt. Earnie has great knowledge in behavioral problems in dogs. He was very confident he could help. I took every bit of advice. After my dogs went with Earnie, I am proud to say I am able to walk both dogs at the same time. They will sit without barking when someone comes over. I can take them out with me anywhere now. It’s a whole new world for us. I am so grateful for Earnie and Sit Means Sit. Total life changer!

The Sit Means Sit program enabled me to take my two dogs Gaea and Dayzee on mountain hikes without worrying about them chasing wildlife. It’s great to hike with my dogs and not worry about spooking the wildlife, thank you!

I am so pleased and impressed with Sit Means Sit in general. My Aussie puppy did a three week board-and-train since my work schedule limited my ability to go to group classes. They were very understanding and did an excellent job of explaining every aspect of their training methods, their e-collar, and were very open to questions. I met with a number of different trainers and every single one was very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. The difference in my puppy is incredible. She listens (the collar really helps), she doesn’t bite me as I walk by, and she doesn’t bark for attention. For the go-home lessons, the trainers I met with were very patient with me as I learned how to work with her, explained the e-collar and its use in detail, and gave me pointers on how to work with specific challenges I was having. Excellent service, very pleased with the results, money well spent. Sit Means Sit is my go-to for dog training because of their quality work and friendly staff.

We took our two pitbulls to Sit Means Sit for training. Sit Means Sit did a wonderful job training our dogs. Kileaux was always easily distracted and Nikita was a rambunctious puppy. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in teaching us how to work with our dogs on continued training.

It is hard to find companies that will work with pitbull puppies, let alone full grown 115+ lb pitbulls. However, Sit Means Sit never failed to make my dogs feel loved and welcomed – which was an added bonus to the amazing quality of training we received. I will absolutely be referring Sit Means Sit to friends and family!

Sit Means Sit’s training program has seriously been one of the best investments I have ever made. I picked my dog, Biggie, up last week and the changes in her behavior and previous aggression have been unbelievable! She’s a better listener, less territorial, and just an all around better behaved and happier dog!

My dog has been able to get off of her very strong anti-anxiety medication and live a better life because of the trainers at Sit Means Sit. Her quality of life, as well as mine and that of my family’s is infinitely better and for that I will be forever grateful!

Thank you Sit Means Sit for changing Biggie’s life! She looks forward to more group training and I will recommend y’all to everyone I know!
