Dog’s Name: “Axel”

City: Austin, TX 78757

Breed: Lab/Greyhound Mix

Likes: “Have play dates with all his friends. Greet new people at the door. Give kisses.”

Pet-Peeves: “Sleeping in his own bed.  He likes to be right in between us when we sleep. Vacuums”

Favorite Toy: “Rope (tug) Tennis Balls (Keep away and fetch) Nyla Bone (chewing)”

Favorite Treat: Anything that is not medicine.

Favorite Walk: Around the neighborhood to see all his friends.  When he is tired, he turns back on our street to go home.

Best Trick: We can give him his leash and he takes it to the front door and drops for us to put it on him.  He can sit and lay very well.

Arrival Story: We got Axel at Town Lake Animal Shelter.  Both of us never had dogs of our own growing up and we wanted to have an addition to our family.  We saw Axel on the website the day after he came to the shelter.  We went to visit and it was love at first sight.  Axel was the only dog at the shelter not barking and he already knew how to sit.  He seemed so calm and happy that he was being played with that day.  We took him home the next day and found out he was already potty and house trained.  He has been the joy of our lives and we could not imagine a day without him.

Why Training / Sit Means Sit: “We are getting Axel trained so we can take him on walks outside of the neighborhood, to parks and to have him off leash. My sister and her boyfriend use Sit Means Sit and they were highly recommended.”

Motto: “Loveable”
