  • Strengthen your bond: Spend quality time teaching basic commands you can implement into your dog’s daily routine.
  • Reinforce positive behavior: Encourage your four-legged furball to implement good behaviors with praise and rewards.
  • Increase your pup’s socialization: Practice interacting with other animals and people in a supervised, controlled setting.
  • Increase your dog’s overall safety: Teach your pup to follow your instructions in different scenarios and environments.

FAQs

Puppies learn best with repetition and positive reinforcement. Aim to develop a consistent schedule and implement what you learned in class by setting aside around 15 minutes daily to practice commands such as “sit” and “leave it.” Give your pup lots of praise and treats to reward good behavior.

Our puppy management lessons are designed for puppies between eight weeks and five months of age. Feel free to check out our other classes, including our private lessons and dog day camp training programs.

You will need some necessary supplies for your puppy’s first training classes — purchase a standard, 6-foot leash that offers control while still allowing your pup to explore. Additionally, you should stock up on training treats. Small, flavorful treats will motivate your puppy to concentrate and follow commands in a distracting environment.

If you want to make your puppy feel more comfortable, feel free to bring a small pet bed or blanket they love to class. On a day you’re learning the “leave it” command, you’ll need to have some toys and a household item your pup likes to play with, such as socks or slippers.
