November Is Adopt a Senior Pet Month!

images-6Here at the ASPCA, we think senior pets are great—that’s why we’re thrilled that November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month! If you’re thinking of adding a furry friend to your family, please consider opening your heart and home to an older cat or dog in need.

Kittens and puppies are adorable, but older pets are just as loving and loyal as their younger counterparts. Plus, adopting an older animal companion comes with some cool perks! Grown-up pets don’t require the constant monitoring that puppies and kittens do, and many are already housetrained. Since senior pets are fully grown, you’ll know right away important information like personality type and grooming requirements, making it easier to choose the right pet for your family.senior-pet-month

Senior pets are also often the last to be adopted from shelters, putting them at increased risk of euthanasia. When you adopt a senior pet, you’re not only welcoming a lifetime of love into your home, you’re also saving a life.
