After our baby was born we were worried about some fearful tendencies our (almost) one year old puppy Darwin had begun to display. He was jumping on walks, pulling, lunging and barking at strangers and the last thing we wanted him to do was behave like that when we were walking with him and the baby. We looked for dog trainers in the area, and we are so glad that we found Sit Means Sit. We did there five day training with them and it is made a world of difference. Tori was fantastic with our puppy, and we felt comfortable leaving him with her for the days and she did so well with him. Him. He is a more confident, well-behaved dog. And we could not have done this without them. Thank you so much!

We took our 3 year old rescue dog for a consultation with Mike and he reassured us they would be able to correct his lack of manners and issues. Zander went for the 10 day camp and we couldn’t be happier. Everyone at Sit Means Sit was amazing. We were sad to leave him there, but he got so much loving I don’t think he missed us too much. We had family come over after we brought him home and they could not believe how well behaved he was. We had our other dog trained at Sit Means Sit and were so impressed, we knew we had to do the same for Zander. I cannot recommend Mike and his amazing team enough. It is definitely money well spent.

We first met Mike, the owner, for a consultation visit. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the process of training and answered all of our questions. We enrolled Moose in the class and we were very impressed with how much he learned in the first class. Moose is a 2yr old lab mix. He always wanted to do whatever he wants and was a handful during walks. After working with Mike and other staff members, Moose listens better and is learning not to tug on the leash. He is working better and following commands quickly. He still needs work, which is why we also attend group classes. The group classes are fun. Along with a chance to work with a trainer, Moose is also learning how to ignore other dogs and distractions. I would recommend Sit means Sit to any of my friends who are looking to get training for their dogs.

Our dog was the usual pet – kind of really was the Pack Leader. LOL Sit Means Sit training allowed us to reclaim our position at the top of the food chain, and in the process we have a better relationship with our pet. He is more enjoyable to have with us on walks or when people are around. He is no longer ‘cute, but annoying’ with his demands for attention. And he probably gets more attention now that he is better behaved, because we now will take him more places. Money WELL spent! Worth every penny

Annabelle at 9 months was becoming food aggressive, would start snapping for no reason, now thanks to Sit Means Sit, we can communicate with her and she seems more calm and relaxed, no more food aggression. We can walk around her when she eats with no problems. Our family enjoys when are trainer Mike comes, that means new ways to sign and communicate with Annie, we love Mike. He really taught us a lot.

I’m so thankful to have found Mike and Sit Means Sit. Bruce had many issues when I adopted him and I had no idea where to begin in correcting these issues. With Mike’s help Bruce is a different dog than when I adopted him almost 3 months ago. Thank you Mike for you professionalism and sharing your knowledge with us. I appreciate what you have done us and I know the cats are grateful they are free too.

I just wanted to say a few words about how happy we are with the training lessons for Pooka. Michael was great and was able to answer all of our questions and concerns. After going through several other programs, we finally feel like we’ve made progress in starting to break some of Pooka’s bad habits and now have the skills to continue his training. We’re looking forward to starting up with our group sessions and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Michael and Sit Means Sit to anyone interested.

I wanted to comment on our SIT MEANS SIT experience with our instructor, Michael Homan. First, this was both An excellent and worthwhile experience! Michael Homan was very pleasant, helpful, and competent in training both Vito and us. We would recommend both SIT MEANS SIT and Michael strongly. Thank you for the assistance in our training Vito.

P.S. Things were RUFF before Sit Means Sit, but I am a happier boy now.

I can not begin to say enough wonderful things about my experience so far with Sit Means Sit. From the moment Michael came to our house and gave us our first evaluation of Thor, I knew that was the training company I wanted for our dog. I had gone and looked at other companies based upon suggestions from friends, but was really struggling. I thought I want someone to help me train Thor as if they treated him like their own family member – not just a dog/animal. I hadn’t found that up until Sit Means Sit came. It honestly wasn’t until Michael came to our house – how he greeted Thor, how he handled Thor and talked to him that I felt comfortable knowing Thor was going to get the best training and be treated with care and love. Thor has done very well in the first three weeks of training. Our kids keep saying “Wow mom, he is really doing well with his obedience training.” My husband is also impressed with Thor’s achievements. We start group classes next week and with each class comes a new opportunity to watch Thor learn as well as myself. Sit Means Sit has taught me quite a bit about training Thor – I guess you could say it’s been a great training for both of us! Most of all, we adore Michael! I can’t say enough good things about him and I tell anyone who has a new puppy or wants to look into obedience training to call Sit Means Sit.

I just want to say what a pleasure it has been working with sit means sit. They are so great at what they do! In most cases it is probally harder to train the humans then the dogs and I know I’m no exception to that rule. This picture shows our dogs jessie(brown) and tucker (black) doing what looks like a simple “place” command. But for Jessie to be on that small box is absolutely amazing! She is one of the most stubborn dogs in the world and when we first started training you literally could not get her to listen to you no matter what.

As I’m sitting outside right now my dogs are running around with no leash and I was pretty care free until a deer came walking up. It got both of my dogs attention pretty quickly and I called them and had them sit on the sidewalk until the deer passed. Tucker stayed seated the whole time. Jessie got up once and started to run but immediately came back when called (but really none of us are perfect ) if you are on the fence about investing in obedience training just know it is A LOT of frustrating repetitive work but it is 110% worth it!

I would just like to share my feelings about your location in Amherst . After the death of my other dog I got a Boxer puppy. I did not do research on the breed and had no idea what I was in for and at 75 years old I was beside myself. I took my Bella to the location in Amherst, Oh for a board and train session. Even after that my Bella was still a lot for me to handle so I would take her back for more training. They finally said let us come to you so we can see the issues you have because here with us there is no problem. I asked how much that would be and they said “no charge” that’s part of your package.

The trainers there are so supportive and friendly. They go above and beyond with the clients and a tremendous asset to the Sit Means Sit organization. I will forever be grateful to Michael, Leslie and Tori and will recommend them to all.

Sincerely,
Vaughn Thompson

We have a 9 month old Border Collie puppy who tried to “herd” cars when we were on walks, by crouching down, then lunging at them! Stressful and frustrating to say the least! She also loves people, but would constantly jump on them to get their affection. Enter Corey and Sit Means Sit! It has been a game-changer! After one week of training with Corey, our friends told us it was like we had a different dog. After 2 weeks, she was able to sit, not lunge, on the corner of a busy street, while cars went by. It is obvious that both Corey and Mike love dogs and what they do, and the results are in the success we’ve had!

Everyone that knows my dog is amazed at the transformation in just 5 days! Absolutely the best investment I could have made in my dog! Corey rocks, he loves what he does and it shows! Could not be happier with the results. Looking forward to more group classes!

Love these guys and the work they do. 2 week training with my golden retriever,Betty when she was 4 months old. Then 2 board and train sessions while we went on vacations. It’s like her home away from home and she loves Michael and Corey and his family! She especially loves that Corey’s daughter agrees to sing to Betty if she ” makes good choices!”
We take her everywhere, Cabelas, Home Depot, Kelly’s Island, Put In Bay, and always get compliments on how well behaved she is!

Absolutely worth the investment! We could not believe the improvement we saw after the 5 day jumpstart program. Aside from seeing the difference in obedience I love seeing my dogs “think” before reacting and “making good decisions”. If this is what could be accomplished in a week, the sky is the limit moving forward! A BIG thank you to Corey and Michael Homan!!!!
