    1. Dog Name: Penny

    1. City: Corpus Christi

    1. Zip: 78414

Arrival Story: Penny was adopted as a rescue 4 months ago. We think she is about a year old. I have another GSP who has been through professional training and Gretel is awesome at 2 years old. I had the same aspirations for Penny, but she came to us (unknown) with a bad case of heartworms. We couldn’t do anything strenuous. Heartworms were cleared a month ago, so we are trying to train her.

Likes: People pleaser, food, more food, couches, riding in the car, chewing a good bone.
Favorite Toy: Chewable bones
Pet Peeves: Doesn’t sit still for too long
Favorite Treat: I haven’t found anything she won’t eat.
Favorite Walk: Out in the back field

Doggie Bio: Penny seems a bit more resistant to training than Gretel was. We have been working on sit and down, sit/stay and down/stay and heel. She ran away yesterday from the dog park and I didn’t know if I would see her again. It was a horrible experience as she ran into the sorghum fields, and I couldn’t find her. Saratoga Blvd was only 100 feet away. Fortunately, we found her. She is a very sweet dog that has had a rough start, car accident (we think), has scars and absolutely no training but still very sweet. We would like to train her to stay and recall and leash walk like Gretel does but she is much more resistant than Gretel was. We have decided that maybe a different trainer will bring different results as what we did with Gretel doesn’t seem to be working as well with Penny. She is socialized with other dogs and goes to Barkaritaville for dog park and doggie daycare.
