Marley’s Story

Marley
Marley “Places” on a straw bale at the Sewickley Harvest Festival

Marley has always been a crazy ball of energy, which was fine when she was little because when she was being “bad” we should just pick her up. She has always been on her own agenda, whatever she wanted to do when she wanted to do it. She rarely listened to “come” when she was called. Whenever she got wound up and ‘bitey’ it was a challenge to get her to focus and calm down.

She always barreled into our visitors and our three year old nephews were terrified of her. The last straw as walking with her. She was too strong and pulled me wherever she wanted to go. She dragged me out of the front door and I ended up bruised.

Marley started working with Sit Means Sit Pittsburgh when she was nine months old. Working with Sit Means Sit has been amazing. With Lisa helping us, Marley has gotten to the point of being able to go everywhere with us! She is able to focus and greet people nicely. She doesn’t drag me anymore when she is on the leash; typically now she is able to be walked off leash and we don’t have to worry about her running off.

Lisa guided us on how to solve many issues, such as Marley begging for food, taking treats nicely, going up and down stairs without her tripping us, and how to get her attention when she’s distracted.  We highly recommend Sit Means Sit. It has helped Marley to be the great down that we always knew she was.
