Warning signs of heatstroke
- Heavy panting and difficulty breathing.
- Excessively drooling.
- The dog appears lethargic, drowsy or uncoordinated.
- Collapsed or vomiting.
What Do I Do If I think My Dog Has Heat Stroke?
- Contact your Vet or an emergency Vet Immediately!
- Your Dog May Need Treatment
- Cool your dog with tepid temperature water
- Move your dog into the shade
How Do I prevent Heat Stroke?
- Never leave your dog in a car unattended
- Keep activities lower while outside in the heat
- Plan ahead
- Take walks in the early morning
- Keep water on hand
- Use a cooling vest or kennel mat
- If you can leave your dog home in a controlled temperature
