Mike did a fantastic job with our german shepherd, Chief. From the first evaluation, we set our goals and Mike shaped his training plan accordingly. We brought our dog once a month for 5 months and have seen really great progress after each training session. Mike also went above and beyond going out of his way to make an at-home trip on the weekend to address some concerns we had. We are looking forward to continuing his work with Chief and cannot recommend Sit Means Sit enough!

The Sit Means Sit program enabled me to take my two dogs Gaea and Dayzee on mountain hikes without worrying about them chasing wildlife. It’s great to hike with my dogs and not worry about spooking the wildlife, thank you!

We took our two pitbulls to Sit Means Sit for training. Sit Means Sit did a wonderful job training our dogs. Kileaux was always easily distracted and Nikita was a rambunctious puppy. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in teaching us how to work with our dogs on continued training.

It is hard to find companies that will work with pitbull puppies, let alone full grown 115+ lb pitbulls. However, Sit Means Sit never failed to make my dogs feel loved and welcomed – which was an added bonus to the amazing quality of training we received. I will absolutely be referring Sit Means Sit to friends and family!

Best Money I Ever Spent

Before we started working with Sit Means Sit our dog Piper was becoming more and more dominant with us and other dogs and unresponsive to her training that we had done with other trainers. Shantelle came out a few days after our initial call with Mike and was able to talk us through the options that they had available as well as provide good expectations on the kinds of things we could expect from Piper after the training was complete. We decided to do the board and train for her and were sent pictures and video of her progress along the way. Once Piper returned home we continued to work with her with the tools that Mike and Shantelle gave us and she has made and continues to make excellent progress! The group classes that were a part of the board and train that we selected have been tremendously helpful in re-enforcing that training on a weekly basis and getting help dealing with any new issues that might come up both with Piper and how I can better respond to things. Both Mike and Shantelle have been terrific with responding to questions or concerns over the phone, email and during class. It was some of the best money that I have spent and would highly recommend them for any problem “children” or any other dog that would benefit from more guidance and better listening skills!

The extremely fearful pitbull learns how to trust again

Sit Means Sit has been the best thing we have ever done for our dog Harvey (other than adopting him). My husband and I are complete believers as we never thought we would find a training program to help our dog, Harvey. Harvey is a 2 year old pointer/pitbull mix that we adopted a little over a year before we joined the Sit Means Sit program. Unfortunately Harvey was bounced around to a few shelters before we found him, so we don’t know a lot about his early life. What we do know about Harvey is that he is EXTREMELY scared and anxious of all new people. Whenever new people came near him he would either pee on the floor, run away or cower. This made taking him places and having people over extremely difficult. We heard about Sit Means Sit through a colleague whose dog was already in the program, and we decided to give it a shot. The training method that Mike and Shantelle have put in place is amazing. It applies to all dogs with all different behavioral issues. We started with the private classes where Shantelle came to our home to train Harvey in the basics. Within the first class, we were able to get Harvey to come up to people he didn’t know (even if he was unsure about it). Since then, his progress has been incredible. After the private sessions were completed, we started bringing Harvey to the weekly group classes. In group classes, Mike works with everyone on their dogs’ specific needs/issues. For Harvey, this means having strangers pet him and feed him. It is great to be able to get together with other people and dogs twice a week to work on making your dog the best version of itself. The private and group classes are an extremely positive and supportive environment. Mike and Shantelle are exceptionally patient with all of the animals, and you can tell how much they really love dogs. I cannot say enough good things about Sit Means Sit. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants help train their dog in a way that is encouraging, constructive and long lasting. THANK YOU Sit Means Sit for helping us!!
