Client’s Name: Jody & Joel
Dog’s Name: “Emmy”
City: Austin, TX 78746
Breed: Purebred Miniature Australian Shepherd
Likes: Emmy loves to fetch a ball. She’s obsessed with it. She’s exremely athletic and high energy. Her favorite thing to do is go to Zilker Park and play ball. We’re starting on frisbee.
Pet-Peeves: Alas, Emmy doesn’t like children and is also agressive with strangers. Once she gets to know someone, though, she remembers them and is quite loveable. This fear aggression is the main reason we came to Sit Means Sit (along with what we hope is a short-lived interest in chasing cars…).
Favorite Toy: She can chase and return a ball forever. We bought a Chuck-it to throw the ball even further. She starting bouncing high and doing a kick before we throw the ball, so now we’ve turned it into a trick, “SPIN”, which is pretty cute.
Favorite Treat: freeze dried liver treats.
Favorite Walk: Zilker Park, Greenbelt, Red Bud Trail. She’s curious and likes nature.
Best Trick: Above mentioned “spin” trick.
Arrival Story: I was interested in a second dog as a companion to our 14 year old border collie Molly. Emmy is too rambunctious for Molly, but we’re glad to have a new pup. We wanted a smaller dog, but love herding dogs, so a mini Aussie seemed like a fit. She is from a farm in Floresville.
Why Training / Sit Means Sit:For off-leash control, to help with fear-aggression, to have a solid way to get her attention if she ever chases a car again.
Motto: “Boingy.” Because she’s always bouncing around hoping for that next ball game…
