Austin Dog Training: Purebred Boxer Says “Squirrels! Squirrels! I Love Squirrels!”
Client’s Name: Destini
Dog’s Name: “Max”
City: Cedar Park, TX
Breed: Boxer
Likes: Max loves to play with toys. I can only give him one new toy at a time because he tries to carry both in his mouth. He prefers squeaky toys, but I don’t. His newest joy is riding in the car with the window down. Max also likes to cuddle as close to me as possible. His other favorite pass time is to annoy the cat, Aven. He hasn’t learned that Aven is king of this house.
Pet-Peeves: Max hates it when his toys go under the couch because he can’t figure out why his 50 lb body won’t fit under there too. Also, at this time he doesn’t enjoy listening to me.
Favorite Toy: Max really likes to play with stuffed squeaky toys. He likes to rip off the heads, pull out all of the stuffing and kill the squeaker.
Favorite Treat: Max doesn’t get a lot of treats so he doesn’t have much to compare but it seems that he likes organic peanut butter.
Favorite Walk: We like to walk around the neighborhood to check out all of the activity. He has a large area behind our house so that he can run his super fast long legs.
Best Trick: No tricks yet but he does go and sit by the door when my car beeps to lock or the door bell rings. He taught himself that trick.
Arrival Story: Probably not the best story but I’ve always had super strong impulses that come over me once in a blue moon. One Saturday morning I went out to get a coffee and saw a couple on the side of the road with 4 boxers. I went home and started cleaning my entire house to quit thinking about him. I already knew I would get a boy and I would name him Max. I couldn’t quit thinking about him so I went to the couple to see if they had any males. I was in luck, 1 left. Then I started to think twice about it and left. I ran out of stuff to clean and couldn’t get him out of my mind so I went back to get my new family member and I can’t imagine my life without him.
Why Training / Sit Means Sit: I’m getting training for Max because I believe he and I will have a happier life if he would listen and I didn’t yell at him all of the time. I want so much for him to be able to run free without fear of him running off or jumping on a kid or another dog. I chose Sit Means Sit pretty much by our first phone conversation. I had spoken to other trainers on the phone and they seemed so militant. Troy was friendly and comforting. Max needs to run and run fast and I am unable to run like he wants so I need to be able to trust him off a leash and SMS specializes in my needs.
Motto: Squirrel! Watch the movie UP and you’ll know why.
