Austin Dog Training: Shar-Pei Mix Wants To Train With His Tri-Athlete Mom!
Client’s Name: Cindy
Dog’s Name: “Tank a/k/a Pfluffy”
City: Austin, TX
Breed: Shar-Pei mix
Likes: Walk, run, chase squirrels, and play, play, play!
Pet-Peeves: Go in his crate… because he knows we are leaving 🙁
Favorite Toy: “Ball – wants to play fetch but has a little bit of a hard time dropping the ball once he fetches. Rope – loves tug-of-war.”
Favorite Treat: Only giving him natural and organic treats. So far he likes everything food-related…but I’ve only had him four days!
Favorite Walk: Anywhere out the front door… because that’s where the action is, apparently.
Best Trick: Does the basics. He’s got a squirrel fetish, so he’s constantly looking up/jumping up trees for them, so I’m hoping SMS will teach him the bounce off the tree trick!
Arrival Story: He was found wandering the streets of Plfugerville severely underweight. He was in Pflugerville’s shelter for 4 months, about to be euthanized when a foster couple took him in. They had him for over a year. I liked his looks and what they had to say on his profile, as far as traits and already-learned behavior. When I met him, I was a gonner. We nicknamedl him Pfluffy because he’s so not and because he’s from Pflugerville – trying to be cute… not sure if it worked or not, judging from people’s responses!
Why Training / Sit Means Sit: “It’s extremely important to me to have a very well-behaved dog because we have lots of guests. I also do triathlons and want him to run and bike with me, without killing/tripping me and/or others. Saw SMS at Pecan Street Festival, remembered the name when looking for training, liked their website videos (very informative), saw instant gratification at the initial meeting.”
Motto: A funny mama’s boy! He’s hilarious when he wants something, is trying to get your attention, or is playing by himself with his toys. His facial expressions are almost human. But the moment I move or leave the room, he’s on my shadow.
