Dog Training Austin – I Just Cannot Keep Still Rescued Border Collie Mix

Border Collie Mix Puppy
“Hazel”

Client’s Name: Peter & Andrea

Dog’s Name: “Hazel”

City: Austin, TX 78745

Breed: Rescued Border Collie/Cute Dog Mix

Likes: Hazel loves spending time with her family, chasing cats and tennis balls, and sitting on chairs and couches like all her people friends.

Pet-Peeves: Hazel loves to explore, but doesn’t always listen to her parents when she sees (or smells) something new. She gets a little scared sometimes of other people and dogs and shows off her barking skills when she thinks that someone is too close, or even doing something she doesn’t approve of.

Favorite Toy: Hazel loves her cuddly blue dragon. She only chewed off one of his wings before she realized her favorite toy would be no more if she continued. She swings him back and forth enough, he makes a funny sound!

Favorite Treat: Peanut butter and food in her Kong.

Favorite Walk: She loves the trails at the Greenbelt and all the other people and dogs playing in the water. When she is more attentive and trustworthy, it will REALLY be our favorite place!

Best Trick: She can sit or even shake pretty well, if you have a treat in your hand!

Arrival Story: After years of wanting to adopt a dog, our work schedules finally allowed us to be away less frequently and we took the plunge. We looked around for a while before finding Hazel at the last Austin Pet’s Alive location we went to. Her name was Valerie then, and we didn’t think it suited her very well. We don’t know anything about her history, except that she was taken into a Bastrop animal shelter and was on the list to be euthanized when APA scooped her up just in time! We are so thankful that they did. She’s a sweet girl and she seems very happy at home with us!

Why Training / Sit Means Sit: Hazel needs help focusing her attention and remaining calm when interacting with other people and dogs. Our goal is to be able to take Hazel with us to any place she’s allowed- we love Austin’s dog friendly bars and parks! Sit Means Sit shares our goal and incorporates fun activities into their training method. Hazel gets to play fun games and learn new ones and we have an attentive, confident, and fun companion.

Motto: “I..just…get…so…excited!”
