DIY Doggy Halloween Costumes

Store-bought dog costumes are awesome and convenient. However, when you have a vision in your head, and you can’t find a costume to match, it can be frustrating. Instead, try making your pup’s costume at home!

Here are some of your favorite DIY Halloween costumes for Fido.

Sushi

This costume is super cute and, thankfully, super easy to make. All you need to do is take a lightweight fleece throw, top it with a pillow in a burgundy pillowcase, and secure it to your dog’s back with a black ribbon. And just like that, your pup looks like a spicy tuna roll!

Superdog

If you think your dog is super cute, turn them into Superdog with this easy DIY! All you have to do is find an old t-shirt and decorate it with your favorite superhero emblem, or create your own! Then, just tie it around your pup’s neck, and voila! They have a totally custom cape made by you!

For added pizzaz, you can make a face mask to go over their eyes out of costume felt and elastic straps!

Martini Glass

If your dog is stuck in a cone of shame this Halloween, or even if you still have on lying around the house, put that cone to good use!

Get a wooden dowel or some other lightweight pole and put two tennis balls on it. Use red felt or a red marker to add the pimento to these DIY olives and skewer those onto the rod. Then just secure the rod to your pup’s cone, and there you have it! A cute little martini! Where’s Waldo

Of all the DIY costumes, this one has to be the most simple. All you need for the literary costume is a red and white striped dog sweater and black glasses! Fido will look so cute you won’t be able to take your eyes off of them.

Bandit

If you have a troublemaker on your hands, let them dress the part in this cute bandit costume. All you need is a black and white striped shirt, a DIY bandit mask made of black felt and elastic, and maybe even a money bag for an extra special touch.

These DIY costumes are super easy and will certainly be the hit of Halloween this year! And, if you are thinking of doing a matching costume with your pooch this year, check out this list of Halloween costumes you can do with your dog!
